Hey guys...I've been trying to learn as I go in regards to Optics and NV but finally decided to ask the experts. I have recently acquired a Scar 17 and wanted to outfit it with optics and NV. I'm not an expert in optics but I believe I would like to get a Elcan SpecterDr 1.5/6. As I really have no clue yet on NV, I was hoping to get your thoughts. I understand the generations of NV but the differences within each generation, I am still learning. I am not planning on buying ASAP but just want to throw it out there for your thoughts.
Dumb question...What would you recommend for Day/Night shooting. I was thinking the Elcan + a front mounted NV. But then I run into the problem of actually being able to look out over the countryside (coyotes) and seeing everything. Does that mean I should get a helmet rig, if so, what do I look for?
