    So the Crazy Norks now claim to have a working Fusion bomb to threaten everyone with.

    About the worst fake movie prop ever, it makes Plan 9 from outer space look like a masterpiece.

    The question is, do they actually think anyone believes them?

    Not that they couldn't hobble together a crude Fusion device with Chinese help, but it sure wouldn't be that small and be working at their technology level, nor would it look like it came from a really bad movie set. You think they could at least get a better prop maker.

    North Korea tests another nuclear device. The world reacts. Well, what I mean by react is speech writers the world over flip on the bingo machine lame phrase generator. This mornings phrase balls read "absolutely unacceptable", "strongest possible response", "condemns in the strongest words", "grave concern", "grave and urgent threat", "serious consequences", and on and on, pretty much the same lines repeated in this sixth test since 2006.

    But what is it these words, that have been repeated into oblivion, are meant to reflect, or induce, or... just plain what the fuck do they mean? The Guardian reports this morning that no one seems to really give a shit any more, reporting reactions around the world such as "...this happens often and the end is always quiet and nothing happened". And that line is from someone in South Korea. Madrid seems to care even less.

    If The Guradian is concerned that too many folks are lulled into a disinterested stupor then I would like the opportunity to deliver a wake-the-fuck-up line or two. The delivery vehicle will be a musical medium. There are enough musicians here on the Hide to get things going. My suggested name for the band is H-Bomb. I'll silk screen the head of my kick drum with a mushroom cloud. The keyboard should be the largest Wurlitzer ever made with every setting reprogrammed to some tone of artillery fire (a Bofors 40mm button for some nice scooped mids and Schwerer Gustav to round out the lows), the shrieks and screams of innocents smartly accented with the MG 42 setting for some piercing highs. At least a dozen spinning Leslie's are required to mimic the drama of nuclear winds. The smoke machines will need to be laced with the aroma of incineration. Not sure about the lyrics yet as anything that comes to mind might be a tad culturally insensitive, and I surely don't want that.

    Of course we will need a corps de ballet to complete this theatre in the round. While I am no choreographer, I propose the most violent mosh pit imaginable. Surely there is a Ballanchine amongst us.

    I'm still ironing out the rest. Whatever the final incarnation is I'll send the proposal to the Department of State, Bureau of Public Affairs to see if we can get a news feed to broadcast a more impactful message. Perhaps we may secure funding from National Endowment for the Arts or airtime on NPR. Peace be with you.

    In a bizarre way... it sort of is!

    Funny that the further the NK's push their 'fable' the easier it will be for their allies to give them the flick... and might accelerate some enterprising NK colonels decision that it's 'topple the nutball' time!

    Whether or not they showed a mockup, a fake or a real one, they did indeed set off a weapon that registered 6.3, so that'd be in line with a megaton or so I believe.

    As to whether he's got that miniaturized who knows, but I wouldn't put it past him given he's gone from bottle rockets to ICBM's in a very short time, not to mention the manufacture of all these nukes --it took use decades and billions in resources to make these, so my big question is this:

    Who the fuck is helping NK, because there is no way they can do this on their own, They simply don't have the resources to pull it off from scratch.

    I suspect China. I do not think it is likely that much goes on in NK without China knowing about it. While that is a concern, the bigger question and concern is why the fuck they keep progressing with being stopped.

    Yes China has been provided tech from here for awhile and I have no doubt there are people here talking to them, telling them to create instability, desiring to create a crisis.

    I think a big part of bringing us to danger point is to hide their own crimes of the last 40 plus odd years.

    They are betting the American people will revolt against any such retaliation that puts us in conflict with China assuming the fat dumb lazy American will choose political slavery over war against a peer power.

    They may be right.

    In their world Trump is the worst imaginable thing that could have happened.

    I think the kid has a death wish, just look at how much weight the fat fuck has put on once the spot light hit him. Nice to see a leader eating so well, while he starves the rest of his people. Then again that is the way it's always been over there. He's gained so much weight that if you were to cut his ass in two pieces, he'd still be obese. He reminds me of the people of walmart photos, he is so fat.

    Concerning his bomb mock up and its authenticity or lack there of.....

    My first thought is that there has to be a nuke bomb in order to get the hydrogen to go fusion mode.

    The casing looks a little thin to keep fatty and friends from cooking off and the test stand looks a little light in construction if there is enough lead on board to shield fatty from the nuke gun.

    Ive never seen a nuke. Any other publicly available tells that point to his mock up being a mockery?

    I think that is true to some extent except the child has grown up now and acts out on their own but they know if they get into too much trouble the parents will come back them up. China has a balance to keep and they don't want a bunch of refugees at their doorstep. The Chinese government has a very fragile economy and government that they have to balance and they don't like it messed with. North Korea could mess it up and they don't want that.

    Im thinking part of the Korea solution requires we take the first hit.

    This should have been handled 25 years ago.

    In the absence of that our national goal should have been a fail proof missile defense.

    Instead missile defense has been hamstrung, likely through agreement between our traitorous leaders and our enemies agreeing we could probably do it and it wouldn't meet their desired ends to have the US able to defend itself.

    If we are not willing to take a first strike we have to go live with what we have for missile defense.

    The next launch should be met with all our Aegis shit. Note this assumes a stealth anti ship oil tanker doesn't take out any more of that capability.

    Anyone bitches about us blowing his shit out of the air after his rhetoric can go file a grievance at the UN.

    If our best is a failure though, shooting bullets with another bullet not being easy, we will have to listen to more of fattys shit.

    Perhaps it will embolden him to real stupidity.

    Perhaps someone just wants to test our anti missile capability for some reason and this is the means.

    NK is not going to attack us, unless it's a Chinese attack. If now's the time to deal with China, fine. NK is not a threat unless we make them one. The only nation we need to attack is Mexico. They are a threat and currently invading us. NK is neither.

    And we don't need nukes to eliminate NK as a threat. Pyongyang is less than 30 square miles. That's less than half the size of Presque Isle, Maine. Conventional munitions could take that city down to the last brick in no time. And with it, every vestige of NK leadership. All the rotten eggs are in one basket.

    The big question is whether the artillery officers on the border have the authority to fire on their own if a decapitating strike takes place... or if they sit tight and wait for orders... that aren't coming. Because if they fire even a few salvos before counter battery takes them out... then our 30K troops on tripwire duty will find that things get very sporty. Not to mention several million ROK civilians and troops. The threat to Seoul is over-rated... because only a fraction of the NK artillery can reach Seoul. And those tubes can be taken out fast. But there is still a massive population North of Seoul and south of the DMZ. Artillery fire there... even lasting only a couple of hours... would be very, very bad.

    That said, and I continue to think that this is the strategy, the longer the fatboy with the bad bowl cut blusters and threatens the U.S... and doesn't get anywhere, the weaker he appears. And the more likely that his own generals or colonels will take him outside and put a 9mm in the back of his head. He may be a suicidal whack-job, but I guarantee you that his staff officers aren't. No doubt, the Chinese have more than a few NK senior officers on their payroll, just waiting to be told to whack fatboy. He should be very, very afraid of his senior military right now.

    Add to that the fact that little Kim is on a clock. His rice crop failed this year due to drought and he is heading into an NK winter.... with empty rice bags. Mass starvation is coming. He needs cash, fuel and rice... now. Or things get really ugly. Cash to pay the annual 'gifts' that his generals and political cronies expect. Fuel to heat Pyongyang and his barracks. And rice... for the countryside. And all the bluster can't change that equation. He has none of it. By now, every previous U.S. admin had backed down and given his family a lifeline in cash, fuel and food. This time, no dice. No rice. Dad might have gotten away with weathering the storm. Grandpa Kim Il Sung certainly would have gotten away with it. Junior isn't going to. He has not solidified his position enough and has too many people who think he should not be the latest in the line of commie nut-jobs.

    One would hope that 4POG is having a field day with this... because if there ever was a time to play head games... it is now!

    Being of Korean heritage myself, actually married to a south Korean chick who emigrated to Indiana and joined the Army just to meet me in Germany then bamboozle me into marrying her so she could slave drive me to the make enough money for her to live life style of the almost rich and not so famous., I know a little about determined Korean people, all her brothers and a sister with a hundred nephews are still there, all serve or have served in their military men and most of the women alike. I view the situation like this, the S Koreans look upon the Norks as part of their tribe with a bad Chief, the Chief needs to go, I really think we are there to keep the south from kicking the Norths ass, the S Koreans will not accept the Chinese taking over the North, I do not think hey will stand by and watch 3 million north Koreans starve this time around. I think it would be used as a humanitarian excuse to invade and destroy the NORKS in a matter of weeks.     Long ago in the spoonbill (Camp Wilbert Bravo 1/8th Cav), we were assigned a fair sector of the zone. Long short we tagged a N/K unit coming down for the black market money. One could talk so back to TOC for int. The ROK inturp/intir got all he could, then told/showed the N/K photos/papers of S/K, the look on his face said it all and he spilled everything. The other thing I loved was how the ROK would set up on the MDL, build a bond fire that could be seen for miles an sing, just daring the north to come an play with them. When they did that if I was lucky enough to be on GP or OP I'd watch them in the BC scopes an smile all night long. The N/K came to play once, it did not work out will for them. The ROK's that were attached to us were rock solid, stand up guys, who were almost the first in any fight in or out of the zone.

    I worked for some Koreans a little less than 10 yrs ago. The guy that headed the project for the Korean company said he was a ROK Marine and said that he had crossed the dmz several times snatching people and fucking shit up. No idea if he was full of shit or not.

    The ROK an selected US units both ran ops across the MDL an many above the north tapes. Black market money, smoke a loud speaker, or close a cave that housed rail guns was the main reason, but some ops went deep into the north.
