Rifle Scopes Not sure what one to get.

I am in need of a better scope for my Howa 1500 308. It has the cheap Ol scope it came with and I can hit 450 meters with it but have not tested the water after that.
I am currently looking at the
1) Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x40 Mil-Dot
2) Leupold Vari-X III 6.5-20x50 Mil Dot
3) Burris Black Diamond 6-24x50 Mil Dot

I know the more you spend the better the scope but I cant sling lead over 700 meters were I live. So i see no need in a 2K+ scope.

Any suggestions?

I do know that I need good rings and plan on getting M1 target knobs.

I have the Leupold and it's been a good scope for me. Simple and not a ton of cash. I bought mine used (never mounted) and saved $300 off the best price I found online.

Have you looked at the Vortex Viper?
