I bought an assembled upper from a reputable dealer about a year ago. Trying to find my emails to recall who it was. Larue stealth upper Pri forend, brake, and low profile gasblock. In other words nice stuff. Was supposed to be a Noveske barrel gunkoted flat black. Shoots great never thought about it. Just took it down and noticed no marking on the barrel like my other noveske. It has the same profile as my other Noveske but no markings at all no twist no caliber etc. Has anyone else ever seen a noveske barrel like this. Is there any other way to id the barrel. I don't assume the barrel extension is marked. Just find it hard to believe someone would put a first rate lower together and stiff some one on the barrel. If it had all been crap or it shot like crap I might think yea I got took but is shoots fine. Really just curious about the barrel maker.

Re: Noveske barrel markings

I've got an older Noveske SPR barrel. It has a rifle length gas port position. It is marked very faintly in front of the front sight. When I Gunkoted it, the GunKote totally covered/filled in the markings. The markings were faint enough that if I blasted the GunKote off, they'd be gone. IIRC, it said Noveske rifleworks, 1:7 twist 5.56 Match Mod0. This barrel is back before he had the current logo, and appeared laser etched.
