    If anybody is looking for a heavy barrel 700 in 223, 22-250, 243, or 308 now is the time to buy. They have the rifle with the crappy scope on sale for $499 until 10/27 plus you get a $50 rebate through dicks, a $50 gift card through dicks, and a $40 rebate through Remington. The $50 gift card through dicks is for a $500+ Remington or Marlin purchase so you have to buy a filler item but it can be a $20 box of ammo, a $10 remington choke, or a $5 set of ear plugs. All said and done you end up with a heavy barrel R700 for $360 plus tax. You also earn 500 scorecard points and if you use one of the 100 bonus point coupons for 600 total you get a $20 rewards rebate in the mail.

    DON'T FORGET TO GET THREE COPIES OF THE RECEIPT AT THE REGISTER. All of the rebates and gift card REQUIRE a original receipt.

    BTW you can also get $50 for the crappy scope that comes with them for even more savings.

    No its just for their dicks exclusive ADL Varmint. They have the new SPS Long Range listed as a special order which you get a $50 gift card for ($500+ rem purchase) and a $40 rebate through remington since it's an SPS. I don't believe it's available from Remington yet.

    Last yr on their Black Friday Sale, I purchased their varmint adl and after all the rebates and gift cards, I ended up paying $289.

    I've bought two of those ADL packages, and three SPS varmint packages from them on clearance and every one of them I got $50 plus shipping for. Some I sold on a local forum and some I sold on barfcom. They went quick too.

    Spending 10 minutes to write your name and address on three pieces of paper then putting them in a envelope with a receipt is too much work to get $140 back?

    I wish I was well off enough that $140 wasn't worth 10 minutes of my time.

    Hmmm, been looking at the Dicks current sale paper online, The $50 rebate is from Remington and is on the 700 Varmint, no problem. The $40 rebate is from Reminton and is for a 700 SPS. Fine print says one rebate per model????. The Dicks gift card is from Dicks! Say with a "qualifying" Remington or Marlin purchase. My take is you will get the $50 Remington rebate on the 700 Varmint and the $20 Dicks gift card(purchase of 200-499) not the $50 gift card even if you buy something else to go over $500. Thats $70 off the $499 price = $429. If I'm wrong please show me how to get all 3 including $50, $50, $40. Thanks, PS I will have one of those cheap scopes for sale in about an hour when I get back from Dicks.
    Oh, what is the 700 Long Range someone mentioned?

    You're incorrect. There is a $50 rebate through dicks, a $50 gift card through dicks, and a $40 rebate through remington.

    To get the $50 gift card instead of $20 you only have to spend another $.01 on any remington item in the same purchase. They sell remington ear plugs for $5, remington shotgun chokes, and remington ammo all which counts. It's for ANY remington or marlin purchase of $500 or more. I did the same exact sale last year and I got all three rebates. The purchase has to be on the same receipt though, not seperate transactions. And you need an original receipt for each rebate so you need three total or 4 if you want a extra which they will print if requested at the register.

    Looks like your right, that will be another $40 bucks in my pocket. When in the store, the clerk would not commit to anything. Once I got a copy of the Dicks gift card, it said in the small print ammo or accessories etc as you just mentioned, and must be on the same receipt. So I picked up a box of Rem 20 guage shells also. So the $50 gift card is looking like a done deal. The $40 Reminton rebate is the only ? As long as there are enough "proof of purchase" stickers I should be good. Now who wants a brand new in the box 4-12X scope? Any one know how to adjust that terrific Marl Pro trigger?

    Just read the fine print on the $50 Dicks rebate form, receipt must be dated between 1-1-12 and 11-17-12. So if you bought one of these this year, go by the store and get a rebate form!

    No J-lock. The trigger in mine is the new new X Mark. It has the same 3 adj screws found in the older 700 triggers. They have a clear hard/tough coting over the screw heads. Will have to be dug out to make adjustments. Mine has no creep and no or almost no over travel. But the weight will make you check the safety lever before it goes click.

    This shows it as $550, less the $50 mail-in rebate...which I assume is Remington's...
    No mention of gift cards or any other rebates through Dick's.
    Maybe your store has a special promo or something, 'cause I'm not seeing it in black and white, here.

    Wally World usually has had the ADL's for less.

    Ok here is what I just did. Buy the rifle for 499.99 Get $20.00 Gift card. Had them discount the rifle $30.00 at the register. Get the $40 mail in rebate for remington. Signed up for their dumb credit card and saved 10% at the counter. Also with their points I will get another $10 discount in the mail.

    $549.99
    -$50.00 instant dicks rebate
    -$30.00 discount at register
    -10% for signing up with credit card (did not use)
    +8.25% Tax
    =457.88 Out the door

    $457.88
    - $20.00 Gift card
    - $40.00 Mail in rebate Remington
    - $10.00 Club discount in the mail
    = $387.88 with all discounts, rebates, % off, and tax.

    Now time to strip all the stuff off and sell it to people that may want it.

    I'm looking to purchase my first long range rifle. I'be been messing around in the 22lr world long enough and I'm itching for more. Decided on 308, but I keep going back and forth on how to go about it.

    - How good of a deal is this compared to something used?
    - Is this a good base for a beginner or should I look for higher grade models?
    - Would I be better served finding a used package on the boards here or somewhere else?

    i just picked up a 243 tonight.
    499.00 advertised price
    50.00 remington rebate
    and i bought a 4.99 remington choke tube tool to break the 500.00 remington purchase mark which got me a 50.00 dick's card. so all in all the rifle only cost me 399.00. everything but barrel and action are goin up for sale if anyone has to have that stuff.

    Depending on how all the rebates and other mojo shakes out, it sure looks like a pretty good deal to me. I know exactly the position you are in as I was there myself a year ago: my suggestion is stop thinking about it and start shooting. The .308 caliber is a perfect place to start. Lots of different loads, and it it won't blow out your shoulder. You can always put a better stock on it in a year or so; that's the stage I'm at, and I paid about $1K for my 'higher grade model' 5R Milspec. I've no regrets, but just sayin'.

    Thanks for the heads up. Between the sale, rebate for the rifle, rebate for two Remington items, and the 10% credit application, it was a Hell of a deal for the .308 I picked up last night. I thought my .223 was a good deal last year with just the sale price and a single rebate.

    And what's with "taking $30 off at the register?" I know that's different from the Rem one, does Dick's know to do this automatically?

    Just trying to decide if this is worth the hassle.

    The Dicks rebate is already applied to make the rifle $499.00. Then if you spend more than $500 on remington products there you get a $50 gift card, but if you don't go over the $500 which you won't unless you buy something else there will only be a $20 gift card mailed to you. So I had the manager deduct $30 off the price right at the register since they could not adjust the price 2 cents to make it to $500. Then I have the $40 mail in rebate for the Rifle. Sorry I know it is kind of hard to follow but that is how I did it and it took me some haggling to get the price where it needed to be. Then at the end I was offered a job, kind of weird. I guess they need people that can haggle and know about firearms.

    My local Weekly Ad doesn't include the 700 ADL in the Remington mail-in rebate offer, but does include the 700 Varmint, which they have on sale for $499.98.

    At bare minimum, I would get back the Dick's $50 gift card and the Remington $50 mail-in rebate to bring it to $400. Maybe I can get some additional rebates if I look around, but that's still a darn good deal in my book.

    This forum is bad for my budget...seriously tempted.

    Then you can turn around and sell the stock and scope to some poor sod who knows no better and put that toward upgrades.

    That's what I did.

    Thanks, this actually clears it up for me. At the end of the day you get the rifle for about $460 (counting the Remington rebate), plus you get a $50 Dick's gift card in the mail (if you purchase some other Remington product to get the price over $500).
