With my current build list I have a no more than 3.5lb for a barrel and muzzle break. I prefer steel but am not opposed to carbon fiber. What contour and length would you recommend to make lite division but still have accurate strings of fire? Caliber would be a 6.5 CM.

What I currently own and will be using:
-Curtis valor
-Leupold Mk5 5-25 with MPA scope base
-Gunwerks bipod
-KRG Bravo

24" .89 Carbon Fiber 6.5CM pre-fit barrel w/ barrel nut from IBI weighs exactly 3lbs 2oz. So if you go with a 20" barrel you'd probably have enough weight savings for a brake.

Funny I’m building a rifle for Heavy right now. I’ll be shooting Team but same same on the equipment rules.
I went with a 26” Proof carbon blank to be chambered in 6.5CM. Said and done I’m projected to be around 13.54 pounds. That’s with a suppressor and a triple pull.
If I use my Bravo with the enclosed forend the weight will jump to 14.4 pounds.

Kelbly Prometheus
26” Proof carbon blank
Leupold MK4HD 6-24 w/ A419 Hunt rings
MDT triple pull (waiting on black Fri)
Grayboe Phoenix 2 with MDT bottom metal
SiCo Harvester 30

Weighed my Proof carbon blank today. Part number 100929 hit my scale at 3 pounds 5.6 ounces. I’m sure it’ll be an ounce or so less (maybe more) once it gets chambered up and threaded. This is a 26” barrel.
