Looking for a scope around this mag. Range and size. I can get military discount on optics that offer them, so that’s something to consider.

Is there anything that is better for the same or less money? $1300-$1500 max

I think the real main competitor would be the T6xi 2.5-15x50 or m7xi 2.9-20x50, not sure what discount is on the m7 tho. Both are around the 32 oz range. Maybe someone that has looked through both can chime in. I really like the m7 but I haven’t had the chance to compare to the nx8. The glass in the t6 is 95% as good as the m7. From previous comparisons I think both steiners would have slightly better glass than the nx8 and have better exit pupil and eye box but the nx8 is also a little shorter at 12” and its in the 28oz range. The capped windage is kinda nice as well. I will say the t6 and m7 have a very large view looking through them compared to most scopes.on paper the nx8 has good fov as well. I think the choice comes down to what rifle you are putting it on. How hard pressed you are on the size and weight category?

    I’ll give them a look.
For now, it’ll be going on a 18” DD

I have a mark 4hd 2.5-10 illuminated on a Grendel hunting rifle. I like it a lot. Wondering if maybe I should grab another for this?
I’ve only taken it to 250 yards, wondering with no parallax adjustment, how it would be at 300-500

I mean 10 power can get it done, it’s just how much information do you need. It’s easier to see impacts and other details at distance with let’s say 15 power . I have a personal bias against the mk5hd and most leupold series for having a very small viewing image through it.i feel its like looking through a straw compared to other scopes these days So take that for what’s its worth. Parallax adjustment is a nice addition on a longer range rig. It gives you a little more forgiveness In head position from shot to shot for precision.
