Interesting to watch but I really could not care less about what happens to NYC. I would be fine if all liberals cannibalized themselves.

It was not long ago that there was a slow down in enforcing the king's policies. IIRC it caused a shortage in funds for the king. What changed? Definitely not the king or his policies.

I read a bit more complete story and it seems a guy shot a cop on the street then walked into a police station and opened fire. What I dont understand is "He was taken into custody and arrested."

Then they need to start organizing to rid themselves of the problem. For example, all of NYPD go on strike or something until Bloomberg removes himself from...(pick your flavor)! Could you imagine what kind of hell that would turn into in days if the NYPD wasn’t there and active?
At this point, all the parties involved - the NYPD, De Blasio, and the public - pretty much openly detest one another, and are getting what they deserve.

Agree. I am former LEO and I know first hand that 95+% of the folks who pursue this line of work are good people. People who want to do the right thing and literally keep the scumbags out of their communities. Unfortunately though (I'm quite sure) the police union in NY probably wakes up and nudges the mayor to get out of bed. So that's all I was getting at. The scumbags they are trying to protect the citizens and their families from, are running the city.
Silentstalkr, I wouldn't want to be within a 50 mile radius of NYC if the police went on strike. I can't stand NYC but its not because of the cops, its because of the f'ed up laws that protect the criminal elements in that city. I'll say it again, I'm certain,i.e. without a doubt, that if the criminal justice system and the termination of these terrorists politicians in NYC , the NYPD would have that place cleaned up quicker than Giuliani did.

Do you believe for a second that ALL of NYPD officers enforce unconstitutional law? There is a thing called "officer discretion " ... So yes im sure (at least i hope and pray) that the majority of officers follow constitutional law, and not Deblasio's Bull$**t.
Im not a spokesman for any law enforcement agency by any means. But seams I'm being scrutinized for standing up for good cops... Please tell me I'm wrong, because this site seems like a really good site, with good folks on it.

Most here either want to or do support good cops but just keep in mind this can get emotional very quick since it has to do with our God given rights.
We as a group know or understand the majority of police officers are typically good people trying to do a tough job. But just because one puts on a uniform doesn't mean that excuses them from any scrutiny good or bad.

I am from New York. And they are not what you may think they are at all.
I will just leave it at that, because I don't want to get on the HMFIC's bad side. He has created a certain set of rules so that we can present a professional and respectable image to the rest of the non gunnie readers out there, so let us all tread carefully around this subject. But you are certainly incorrect in your perception of how most of the NYPD is. Think of NYC and New Jersey as separate countries, perhaps more aligned with Canada or the EU and you will get an image.
I'll leave it at that then. My wife was from Westchester county and moved to Missouri, for me. Things were getting uncomfortable for her then.
I used to keep in touch with a couple of the guys i met with NYPD (years back) and they seemed to be willing to push back when it came to unconstitutional laws. Unfortunately , i guess things may have changed. Whether it's a matter of "I want to believe or I BELIEVE " that most cops are on the up and up. Shit, for all I know after my original post, maybe being of a totalitarian midset is a prerequisite.

But when you know that if you draw your weapon and, god forbid, shoot a perp who is opening up in a police station... you will be crucified for excessive force by Debozo's NKVD... then you hesitate. And that gets great people killed. Not saying that is what happened... but it is what CAN happen when you take away an officer's use of force discretion (and training) and replace it with a bunch of sociology mumbo jumbo and training for how to deal with Same Sex Domestic Violence.. instead of learning street smarts and law enforcement skills. And I am not making up "Same Sex Domestic violence... because we had 8 hours of Control and Restraint training taken off our schedule a few years ago... and replaced with "How to be sensitive in same sex domestic violence calls." That was helpful.
We've had some NYPD folks here on SH and they are stand-up. Everyone I ever met who was NYPD or FDNY was great and serious about the Constitution, America, the flag, patriotism and their jobs... then again, most I met have been deer hunting, vacationing upstate, at ranges, schools, etc.... I never hung out at Starbucks with the ones vying for political posts at City Hall.
Never forget... once you reach a certain level in an urban PD (a bit like in the .Mil) you suddenly become political. And a ton of the higher-ups are there not because they were the best street officers or the best combat leaders... but because they were "Wipers of Councilmen's or political bottoms" far more than they were beat cops or field officers. And they execute on political orders, not on what is good for the brother officers that they buddy-fucked long ago to make Lt. or Captain or get a plum assignment to get 'noticed.'
So don't blame the guys sitting in the van on a night shift with cold coffee... blame the politicians pretending to be police. Same way that there are plenty of useless, pudgy little traitors wearing CIB's and Ranger Tabs... where they shouldn't be necause they are buddy-fuckers and apple polishers. Sound familiar?

I came across a plane load of NYPD in the Houston airport on their way home from training. Probably half a plane load preparing to board. They were loud, obnoxious, and making references like shit kickers and country ass accents. This loud enough it could be heard across the terminal isle. That was my impression of NYPD. But I dont know any others.
Agree fully. I know that there are many good folks on the force even in NY and NJ but they are so hamstrung by libtard policies that they must look in all directions before even taking a piss so as to avoid a potential screwup. And many of their superiors are highly political and act as Soviet-esque commissars within the ranks to make sure that libtard edicts are being followed to the core, so 'officer discretion', if spotted in an incident involving possession of a firearm for example, may very well lead to disciplinary action against the officer.
Well, depending on the airport, they may have been right on the money?
