I'm starting a new thread as the last one opened up an unintended can of worms.
After 30+ hours of reading on options out there I came to reach the conclusion that USO will best suit my needs. I know I want the EREK knob and probably the #3 knob for windage. I also like the ergo px adjustment. I will definately get mil/mil or moa/moa to match the reticle. What I am not 100% decided on is is I want the 44mm objective lens or the 58mm. I'm also not decided on the value to me to get the 3.8-22 above the 3.2-17. I like the added magnification for no other reason than its better to have something not needed than to be in a situation where I wish I had it.
My main reason for the bigger objective is that its likely I will do some early morning and later evening shooting and will be in wooded areas frequently too. Atain I don't want to be left wanting. I have heard that the big objective lens NEEDS the sunshade and honeycomb. That would make for a scope nearly as long as my current gun in the 22x model. I don't give a Damn if it looks odd but it would probably cause some mounting issues to keep it a safe distance from the muzzle break. Going with USO above the other brands loosens up some cash though and will most certainly get me into building a distance stick much sooner.
As of now, I've never shot farther than 200 yards or so so my frame of reference is limited on how much 17x will get me. Even with crappy 100 dollar scopes I can see a large target at 1000 yards on 9x but past that I'm completely at a loss for real world situations.
I know I must sound silly wanting so much having shot nothing at what you all would consider long range. I just really have no desire to go through another long range optic purchase for a few years, and want to get ExactlY what I want, not just what's needed.
Thanks a million for any info and experiences. If you have 1st hand on these options I would love to know what the comparisons are.
