Here is my October Lucky 7 score - (By the way, don't pay any attention to the score on the target as I wasn't getting my head wrapped around the math for some reason), and my 100YB-25RD score;

Lucky 7 - 100 Yards - Bench

NAME: Joe Martin
CLASS: S (Simmons .22 Mag 3-9x32 AO)
RIFLE: Marlin 80 (Sears & Roebuck 1964)
AMMO: Remington GB, 1280 fps, 36 gr
Score: 152-3x

100YB-25RD

NAME: Joe Martin
CLASS: S (Simmons .22 Mag 3-9x32 AO)
RIFLE: Marlin 80 (Sears & Roebuck 1964)
AMMO: Remington GB, 1280 fps, 36 gr
Score: 25-10x

The Remington Golden Bullets surprised me! I have some that I got years ago and never really had much luck with them, but they seemed to preform ok in this particular rifle I used this morning. The action was getting a bit stiff from the fouling of these "dirty" bullets, but they did ok I think. Not my first choice naturally, but these days I want to save my good stuff. Also, didn't shoot the 100YB-TQ-4 as I forgot to take some of these targets to the Range with me. I'll catch it later this month and posted the results here.

********************************************

Ok, shot this target this morning after changing out my scope on the Marlin 80 (used last week) and installing a Tasco Target Varmint 6-24x42 AO Mil-Dot scope. Also, I changed ammunition to the CCI Standard (1070 fps 40 grain lrn) and zeroed in at 100 yards with it. I cleaned this particular rifle after using the Remington GB's last week, and it took me around 35 - 40 shots to get the barrel acclimated to this ammo. Afterwards it started shooting great! I like the CCI Standard! Here's my 100 yard score and target; (This combination of rifle/scope & Ammo, shoots as good as my Savage MKII FVT with the same setup using Eley Sport & Aguila Target). Man I'm happy with this!

100YB-TQ4

NAME: Joe Martin
CLASS: S (Tasco Target/Varmint 6-24x42 AO, Mil-Dot)
RIFLE: Marlin 80 (Sears & Roebuck 1964)
AMMO: CCI Standard (1070 fps, 40gr lrn)
Score: 246-14x

[Shot 10/10/13]

100YB-TQ4

NAME: Joe Martin
CLASS: O (Open Iron)
RIFLE: Marlin 80DL
AMMO: Blazer (1235 fps, 40gr lrn)
Score: 218-1x

Though not a great score, I enjoyed this match the most using a vintage Marlin and open iron sights.

I need to get in on this, I think it would be great fun and help improve my skills. Let me go through all the rules and I'll try to get some results posted if I can get my schedule and the wind to cooperate.

79 deg 60% hum, 3mph 9:00 wind, sunny (not bad for october)

When I shot this I thought prone meant sling only, no rest or bipod. Can one use a bipod in prone? Also, I really fell apart at the 200. Vertical spread was over 9 inches and my wind compensation was off by 2 inches or so (that's one moa). Thanks to those who do all the work for these kinds of matches!

Hello JoeZ, and welcome to the monthly comps.

To answer your question, yes you can use a bipod. Here is the Rule, as outlined above in the Rules;

4) SUPPORT / SHOOTING AIDS - A Sling & Shooting glove may be used when shooting each match. Bipod, Backpack, Sandbag or other front support to the forestock / barrel in combination with a sling may be used. BUT no rear support, rifle fired from the shoulder. No "Lead sled" or benchrest type rests allowed.
