So I have been struggling to get my 223 barrel on my origin action to dial in really well. I keep getting this weird looking grouping. What it does is I will have three separate groups of three rounds each one bag whole each on a diagonal looking waterline. What it looks like if you didn’t know any better would be somebody doing group testing with different kinds of bullets. Once again the groups are super tight there’s just three of them typically in a 10 round string overall spread is approximately 1 1/2 minutes. Now the general consensus has been that it’s probably neck tension but I had an odd observation this evening and I wanted your thoughts. I have been running my origin action in myMPA chassis and the barrel nut for the pre-fit was contacting the channel for the barrel in my Mpa chassis My chassis has finally come in for the origin action that I wanted for it and it has more space to accommodate that barrel nut. Could that contact at the barrel nut on the walls of the chassis create that much issue.

Barrel nut contacting could cause action to not find it’s happy place in the chassis and the wandering impacts are it’s formal complaints.

Something is moving.

Try the new chassis.
If it's still off try a different scope. (Make sure rings and mounts are tight).

Try factory ammo if you're shooting reloads.

Barrel may have not been stress relieved properly and has stages it goes to while it takes heat. I typically have only seen this in thinner hammer forged barrels, but anything is possible...

I'd put a 99% chance on the chassis that clears the nut fixing the issues.
