i see all the time in magazines and listed online do it yourself posts that with a parkerized gun you should oil them often my question is what kind of oil is being refered to is it just regular old rem-oil or something more special.
Oil, period. In 'Nam we used motor oil...; all we had available. Park's main purpose is to provide a sorta porous wick that allows the oil film to persist.
for the OUTSIDE of the rifle you can use anything that provides a barrier against moisture. You could probably slap bacon fat on it and be fine. </div></div>
