OK. So I bought a Cadex Strike Light L/A Chassis for a Remington 700. I'm new to LR Target and have read that 6CM is lazer accurate. So other than a 300 Win Mag....Will S hort Action Barrell like the 6 or 6.5CM fit in my chassis/ 308? Be Nice. I'm new and dumb!

Is your Remington action currently a long action? I'm assuming it is if you already have it in a la chassis. You can run 308 family cartridges in a long action you just may need a different bolt depending on what your current set up is chambered for and you may need to play with things to get it feeding right. Not the most ideal set up but doable depending on what you got

Thanks for the reply....I currently have NO Action......on the barrel that is! I'm building from Scratch and just have the chassis which is a long action chassis.....I've researched a number of chamber rounds 300 WIN Mag/ 308. 6.5 and 6 CM. I got a screamin deal on the chassis so I had to get it....$700 for a 2200 chassis! The barrells Ive been able to find on Gun broker are mostly 308 with 5R rifling..So I guess ultimately....If I buy one of the S/A chamber rounds....So depending on what I can fit into the chassis, Ive got a lot of different ways I could go....Just not sure if I buy one of the S/A Barrels if I can use it....I've seen I cant go the other way....e.g. Long action on a Short action chassis.

Yep you can get a long action with a 308 bolt just like dillhole said army has been doing it for years. Just no you might need to play with a mag block adapter and or the mags to get it feeding 100% but it is very doable.
