These S&B, USO, any 2+k$ scope is just shit!!! If ya got it to spend and its no big deal then get one! But if ya can see the target, dial, and its repeatable, somewhat rugged go with it!!! Carlos shot more ememy with a redfeild than any of you 2K scope guys slept with women! How on earth did he do that with out a scope that you couldn't hammer nails with?? Alot of what goes on in this site is class envy! It is really bullshit... Now you do have to seperate the junk tasco shit, but come on..... Really! Spending on the rig is more important than glass. But with any purchase there is a point of no return. Your just spending more for the same thing. Tracking is just that, if it track it does, magifcation is just that, if it makes thing bigger it does.... If the view is clear then its clear.. Where along the line does one scope do this better than another that still does it? If you dialed the scope and hit what the fuck????? It comes down to the name on the fucking tube right? If you want to give someone a extra 1k for the name, your dumber than cat shit in a wool blanket. Hey but thats just me.... If ya got more $$$$ than ya need go with it! But REALLY in a given class of scope we need not go crazy it doen't get you ANYTHING more, nothing??? Now popcorn ready lets get back to scope choices. Oh and yes its fun to see Lowlight blow up $$$$ scopes and they still work. But in real world if that happend your still dead even it the road side bomb didn't kill your glass? No, go put your head next to his test on glass and see who wins it doen't matter?? Things like that aren't real world, doen't matter. The are building scopes to withstand tests that just dont outside of military happen? I would rather see him track a bushnell 6500 with a what ever $$$$ brand and see how many thousand time you can do it till and which one fails first. Buy the way Sub Zeor refrigerators 6K best money can buy....One of the worst for failer and repairs consumer reports! Money well spent? Come on think people </div></div>
Dude you asked for our opinions and you seem to be disregarding them now AND answering your own questions, in which case begs me to ask why you started this thread in the first place.
Does a brand new car drive? Yes? When will it die in the ass? Who knows?
Do you buy you cars based on the cheapest model you can get your hands on? If not, ask yourself why? Because im pretty sure it will get you from A to B just like your car of choice would.
Find the shittest scope you can get your hands on and put it on a .700 nitro express. Look thru that tiny eye relief and then go and pull the trigger... once you pull your mangled face off the floor, then have a go at seeing if the tracking still works properly on the turrets... oh whats that? It doesnt! And now you have a ring mark on your forehead because of crappy eye relief and a busted scope.
Sooner or later you will have to face the facts. Good glass costs money. It is not the kind of thing that can be slapped together in a short amount of time and be expected to work flawlesly. It is a fine piece of equipment that goes thru many stages of production before it ends up a finished product.
Shit scopes get less attention hence stories of people buying units with foggy glass, canted reticle, busted internals and all of that unpleasant stuff.</div></div> Okay I'll take alittle heat here for my own doing. I was reading other optic post and getting upset that the 2+k scopes are the only ones poeople seem to regaurd as good enough. I think too many people are driven by price to assume quality. Now Leupold has a 2+K scope coming out??? Is the scope any better interanly than a USO??? Same price which is better???? I just wish we could go more on performance and quality than straight $$$$ and name. The old adage you get what you pay for doesn't (always) aply anymore. I mean doesn't oprey have a 1k scope? That is in nightforce ball park? Saving to buy the best you can isn't enough if you saved 1K and bought a Ospey and it takes a crap? I wouldn't be on this if the price diffence was a few bucks. But if a bushnell 6500 held the test of time the extra $$$$$ would be enough ammo to hold off a small army! It just seems that today too may comanys are jumping on the 2-3K for scopes that is just crazy!!! Even if your not money challanged spending that for a scope seems overkill. I mean what more are you getting, extra moa on a caliber that cant use it? Then your either on a retical kick, or crazy power 22X plus? Which if its too hot out you can't use threw mirage? Im sure anyone who bought a uso at some point wondered if a nightforce would of done just as well for them at less$$. And someone with a nightforce wondered about a Leupold, or bushnell? I'm just asking at what point are we overpaying???? Really anwser that truefully. At what point is enough, when are we just overpaying for the same thing in a scope? That my shooting freinds is the guts of this topic!!!!! No a bushnell will never be a USO! But does a USO blow the doors off a nightforce or Leople for the extra k$? That point goes down the litst of competing scopes till you hit turd. Whick is where we should start with as good enough and go from there till we get to a scope that never fail and beyond that is just over kill? There, put it that way. Has anyone ever had a nightforce let them down??? Probably not, so what are you really getting out of a scope double the price? I can't wait to hear the come back for that..... I don't think I ever asked such a good question? Please understand I am really trying to be inlightened here, as probably some reading this post. I also in no way am pointing at anyone who posted or calling anybody out just my own road to enlightenment???? Oh just found that Leupold Mark 4 3875$$$$ now all the Hobby guys who want the best gotta order now right?
