Oklahoma Cut In Half?

Little to no effect so far. There was a couple months of uncertainty for hunting rights and taxes...but life here is no different today really than before that ruling.

No argument from me but what happens if you get brought up on charges and have to appear before some tribal court? Do they recognize our Bill or Rights and Right to Due Process?

I have been to OK........why would anyone want it 🤣

Tell that to the millions of Texicans who invade from the south each year...

...Probably still has something to do with the fact that exactly ZERO voting districts went blue again last election. That will change at some point from the invasion though.

Tribal court for injuns, white man's court for whities. Our county court still prosecutes even though I'm in the middle of Choctaw land...so much so that my wife treats the Chief's pets (Gary Batton) at her clinic.

You can still get a ticket from the hi-po here regardless of where you're at, and if you're a CDIB card holder here or not, etc... It is just that criminal cases for Indians are now either federally handled or handled by the tribes (AFAIK).

For a little bit there was a pissing contest over hunting laws, but I think that it is settled now. The game wardens can still cite regardless as well here.

Living on a Rez. No, they don't recognize rights in the courts.

However they also cannot prosecute non tribal members.

However the FBI is always providing ultimate LEO for tribes over the local PD, so if you fuck up you can catch federal charges.

Other than the wind blowing all the time I could live there and be happy. 100% red. Good deer, antelope hunting in the NW. Quail, turkeys and ducks. Low population and still desolate nowhere places. Got a good friend just across the line in Lipsomb Tx. Same thing.

Well at least the Italian Leg Lamp is safe in Chikasha!

Arkola Sand and gravel which operates in Van Buren, Arkansas was sued by either the Cherokee or Choctaw Nation due to Arkhola operating a dredge in the Arkansas River. They wanted so much per ton for the dredged material and the sand company said “no problem” and stopped operating In Oklahoma. By the way, their dredgeing was in cooperation with the Corp of Engineers to maintain the channel in the Arkansas River. Now it is costing the Corp to dredge in Oklahoma while the tribe gets nada.

I was warned years ago when I would work in the Dakotas to watch your as$ while crossing tribal land because the tribal courts loved to stick it to the white man, especially if he had a firearm in his possession.
