A few years ago I bought a Savage Model 10 in .223 and expected it to be a tack driver. It wasn't. Over the next year and a half I started reloading to unlock the secret of accuracy in that rifle. Tried everything imaginable to make it shoot to no avail. Finally replaced the barrel with a McGowan 26 inch varmint with an 8 twist. That baby shoots! Now I'm fine tuning my reloading and practicing trigger control and spending too much money on stuff, you know, scopes, rangefinder, precision dies, just bought a Kestrel,,,,,stuff. And I LOVE it. I found a farmer with an outrageous number of rock chucks that need thinned and he loves me. I stopped counting last summer after I passed 300 chucks and I'm hoping to do even better this year.
Looking forward to learning a few things from this site.
Old newbie because I turned 65 this winter and retired after 30 years and newbie because I've never been here. Be gentle.
