I looked around and couldn't find anyone talking about this. I've got an old Winchester M70 that I'm wanting to fix up and put in the hunting rotation. (Restock and barrel chop for supressor) I know the Omega's min barrel length for a 300wm is 20". Does the .270 have less muzzle pressure (not sure if that's correct term) than the 300wm to where I would be safe to chop the .270 down to 18"? Not sure I want to go that short, but want to know if it's even an option.

Yes I am aware of the velocity I would give up going that short, not a big concern of mine for the intended purpose.

I'd call them, but if it's rated for it, I wouldn't be afraid to go down to 18", maybe even 17". I really dig my 18.5" suppressed .30-06, if it's going to be suppressed all the time anyway, blast won't be a concern and .270 is more than enough for any deer that ever walked. My next suppressed hunting rifle purchase is probably going to be a Kimber .280 AI, chopped to ~19" or so.
