Sup guys ...this past Saturday I was at the range and the wing was kicking it hard ...took my 6.8 stag shooting barrets 110gr hpbt ammo at 200 yards and when I took my shot it hit exactly one mil left and the realized I had a moa/ mil reticle. Found out in the forum that one mil is 3.6" so my question is if one moa is roughly one inch at 100 and 2 more or less at 200 if I just move the windage 1 1/2 moa to the right would I of been good dead center granted that the three rounds group one mil left ??? The worst part was the I forgot to log where my original zero was ....zero stops would if helped here ...any opinions that could if helped me out thanks .

Re: one mil left

Let's talk specifics - 1 MOA is 1.047" at 100 yards and 2.094 at 200 yards and as you stated 1 Mil is 3.6" at 100 yards. To go back and forth between the two:
MOA to MIL divide the MOA by 3.438
MIL to MOA Divide MIL by .2908

If you had to go 1.5 MOA right you could go .436 (round to .5 MIL) on your Mil Dot reticle or dial right 1.5 MOA on your scope dial and go for it.

Google this - MILS and MOA - Mil-Dot...and there is a PDF that will get into detail of what I am talking about.

Re: one mil left

I set it to 10x manufacture requirement for ranging its a 4-16 and its a second focal plain the retical doesn't get bigger..... ffp and sfp I get confusse d at times

FFP scopes can be mathematically used at any magnification setting.

Yes. That, my friend, is the golden ticket.

Re: one mil left

I have a data book with most if my info and at 200 yards with the weather I was suppose to hit either dead center or a bit if to the left but I guess I took midrange wind forgranted cuz it was center just a whole mil left the wind was at full value I just didn't think it was blowing that hard ....I don't use wind meters Im trying to use the mirage so I can practice incase my equipment fails and a mil off at 200 yards with the wrong wind reading to me is ok but I hate it when i miscalculate

Re: one mil left

ok so going to the problem i had i shoot 200 yards and bam one mil left...... so i would just dial 3.5 moa to the right and its center right... sorry if i sound like a record but i want to get this right and your advise is really helping

Re: one mil left

Yeah I should of just held the wind...I tell you I started making adjustments and then I realized I didn't have my turrets at zero at the time so I couldn't just go back to zero on the turret and with this adjustment it just threw me off so now I have to reset my zero for wind .....
