Way back several months ago I switched out the wood stock on my 1712 for the XLR chassis on the 1710. I swapped them back eventually because I didn't have anything to fit the 1710. Accuracy has always been a battle with the 1712 with the wood stock expanding and contracting, making contact with the barrel and such.

I finally made the switch for good. Now I need to find something "not wood" for the 1710. McMillan makes two I really like but I don't want to be without my rifle for 8-10 months. Does anyone know where a chassis or stock could be bought without a long wait? Only one I am aware of is the MDT LSS chassis.

Anyway I went from pretty looking to pretty shooting.

Again, does anyone know where I can find a chassis or fiberglass stock for an Anschutz 1710?

I am sure there are loads of places online that out of fiber glass or laminate wood or wood depending on what you want that could or would have what your looking for , you could check these picked a few at random online hope they help .

    acudaowner,

Thanks for those links. I contacted Doan. Boyd's don't make one for the 54 action and Anschutz is a maybe on the XLR chassis but I really wanted something different. The other two are in England.

    Littlepod,

That's a good idea. Not sure about the weight on the MDT but the wait on the McMillan was too long. In all seriousness, the MDT might be the way I go with the Black Friday sale and plus I have a few AR buttstocks and tubes laying around here so I'm kinda already ahead in that extra expense.
