One of the greats has crossed the Bridge to Valhalla

To Valhalla where the bold and brave shall live forever!
One of the greatest lines from one of the best movies ever...

"Lo there do I see my father
Lo there do I see my mother, and my sisters, and my brothers
Lo there, do I see the line of my people back to the beginning
Lo, they do call to me
They bid me take my place among them
In the halls of Valhalla
Where the brave may live... Forever."

Now back to the Airplane movie quotes...

"I am serious. And don't call me Shirley."

If you liked that movie - you should read the notes from Iben Fadilalon - the ambassador to the Shaw -may great travels many unbelievable adventures- eaters of the dead being but one .

I also fucko g love that movie (13th Warrior, book based on his travel notes called eaters of the dead )

I remember as a teenager, watching Airplane with my dad, and we'd both be crying from too much laughter; my mother thought we were insane and just didn't get the hilarity.

I still revere that movie. Barbara still makes me chuckle if I just think of her delivering, "I speak jive..."

Different movie but along the same lines, I took my parents to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail, they were repulsed, my Dad walked out, meanwhile I’m dying laughing next to dear old mom, I don’t think she cracked a smile. It was a quiet ride home except I chuckled from time to time.

I read the book before I saw the movie.

Crichton wrote that book on a bet. He had a friend that said Beowulf was overrated, boring, and should be discarded as part of English literature... Crichton disagreed and basically revamped Beowulf into a story format.

This is one of my other favorite scenes/quotes from that movie... Wise words

"What are my orders?"

"I will take a ham and cheese on rye, hold the mayo."

"A hospital?"

"Yes, it's a big gray building with doctors and nurses right now but that is not important right now."

"The white zone is for loading and unloading of passengers only."

Of course my initial response to the seeing Jim Abrahams name was to want to type....

"Never heard of him.

That's not exactly true. We were like brothers."

Which was from Airplane 2.
Which Jim Abrahams had nothing to do with.
