Rifle Scopes One Piece Base Selection--Need Help

I am looking to mount a scope on a 308 with a rail. I wanted a lever release system if possible.

NF offers Unimount one piece but it need a wrench.

LaRue offer a Lever System but it does not have the 20MOA angle.

If I am only going to shoot 300 yards, maybe 500 max do I need that 20 MOA?

What about 2 rings mounted directly to the rail? Would it return close to zero upon remounting?

Any suggestions? Thanks

Why would you be taking the scope off the rifle so much? Is this a semi auto or bolt?

With a quality base, a quality ring will come very close to zero when removed and reinstalled to the proper torque value.

LaRue does have 20moa, look at their 50bmg mount if that's what you really want.

Like Rob01 said, why do you want to take it on and off so much.

no way you need a 20 base if only shooting to 500........but you never know when you will have a chance to shoot further. buy once cry once

I will answer some of your Questions.

It is a 308 semi auto with a rail.

I really don't have to take it off very often, I just thought that the feature to do so would be nice if I wanted to move it to another gun with a rail. Thinking about that it really doesn't if I have a lever or a wrench.

If I am going to spend around $225 I would think about buying one from the scope manufacture NF.

Again I don't think that I will ever shoot over 500 yards with most of it at 300 max as it only has a 18in barrel

If I went with 2 rings directly on the rail I can get the scope lower and would not to do anything to the stock.

So it's a NF scope? Which one?

Is the rail raised at all like a DPMS LR308 or flat? You can always go with taller rings. I really don't like levers or QD on a precision rifle either semi or bolt but that's just my personal opinion.

I have my 20" .308 semi set up with a Badger 22 MOA rail and I use regular rings on it. Works well but it's shot out to 1000. If you are only going to 500 then a Larue or something like Jason posted would work or the NF mount.

kwak - I wouldn't worry about return to zero with a quality set of Picatinny rings. We've tested ours, along with a few other makes of rings, and all of them repeated to well under a 1/4 MOA.
