One-piece scope mount vs first born child

I'm wanting to go to a one-piece scope mount of 30mm. After recovering from the aneurysm I suffered upon seeing what the Spuhr cantilever cost. I saw the Warne Skyline at about $240.00. Does anyone have this mount or a one-piece mount at or under (preferably under) that price they consider a pretty good mount? I'm strapping a Tract Toric 4-2-x50 scope to a 300 Remington Ultra Mag that weighs about 13 lbs.

I have a Nightforce 1 piece mount on a couple rifles. They are 220 or so I think and seem to be decent quality.

The Seekins is $199 and its a great mount.

The regular Warne is $150 and its good.

I really like the look the looks of the Sekins. Warne has so many mounts I'm trying to separate the AR targeted mounts from those designed for heavier duty ones...I think I'll write them.

Masterpiece arms has a solid mount for about that. Definitely worth checking out. Served me well for several years. Buy once, cry once. Buy cheap, buy twice.

A lot of people will knock the larue mounts for having vertical split rings, but they are under your price point. Never had an issue with mine in the past decade or so.

Spuhr testimonial- I had to remove mine at the range because it was too close to my eye with a new stock with an existing barrel action. Loosened it up, moved it up one position on the pic rail and torqued it back down. First shot had a perfect vertical and I only needed to dial up 0.1 mil. They work as advertised. Buy once cry once.

I had problems with my Larue lt104. Would not recommend. Even my el cheapo Aeroprecision was doing better.
That being said,
Sphur QD, never had an issue
Warner MSR QD, never had an issue
ZRO delta M4 QD, never had an issue
Aeroprecision, never had an issue but they’re only installed on plinkers, they’re lightweight and cheap but not the greatest design.

Yeah honestly for a bolt gun, just get a set of high quality rings. I've got MDTs elite on my RimX for way cheaper than a mount.

If it attaches to a pic rail or dovetail the good old Accuracy international 1 piece is often overlooked. If it worked for decades on AWs, im sure it can handle just about anything else.

I have seen them for under $100 used and mile high still may have some for $125

Get the MPA and call it a day. They’re absolutely top notch, rock solid, never move on you, have all the attachment capabilities of spuhr, and cost half. I’ve run several across several builds and calibers and have zero reason to change (and I’m constantly blowing cash on trying new crap).

This is excellent advice… either way you save a hundred bucks and get an excellent mount that will never let you down. Plus, the RRS unit is the most beautiful and functional thing you’ll ever lay your dick tongs on.

Bought a bunch of Leupold 2 piece Mark 4 mounts before they stopped making them. Are very streamlined, very solid. Also picked up a box full of Vortex 1 piece mounts (prior to the current run on everything) for $60/each. They are very solid. If you properly mount your scope (either lapping the rings vs. bedding the scope) the mount will NOT be the weak link. If you're interested I can let one of them go for price I paid (plus shipping).

Have an ex military sniper friend who is very pleased with the Vortex mount. In 2007 (I believe) he won a pretty big sniper competition, either U.S. or world military competition. If he's pleased with it then......................

I'm just working off a patrol officer's budget, but I've had nothing but good experiences with Burris' PEPR mount. A little on the heavy side, but built like a tank. I've got three rifles with that mount that have been used and abused, and haven't had any shift in zero or otherwise negative experiences.

You wont go wrong with Badger or Nightforce. They won’t break the bank and can handle abuse.

I don't know what you guy's are paying in the US for Tier One mounts but I highly recommend them, everyone of my rifles are now fitted with their mounts.

There are many excellent mounts out there, but the one I ultimately selected is by JP Rifles.com. I have two (item #JPFTSM-34-20) and are very satisfied with them. Their mounts sell for $180-225 last I read. Good luck.

I’ve had Badger(both unimount and the C1), ADM Recon, JP, Aero, and Warne(plain jane version). I never used mine super hard, but all seemed rugged to me. I still have a JP, and a Badger unimount or two in use around my place.

Wasn’t the SPRM originally set up with the cap screws coming up from the bottom/upside down ? That would have driven me nuts……
Looks like they changed it to “top down”, which is what they should be.

I've used ADM, LaRue, and Warne mounts - all of which have been rock solid. The ADM and LaRue QD are consistent & repeatable if you need to remove and reattach for any reason. My Warne mounts are not QD mounts, and they're just as solid, so you can save some $$$ with them if you don't need QD.

I second (or third) the American Defense Manufacturing (ADM) mounts. They are solid, repeatable and not too terribly expensive. I've pretty much switched everything to them as the opportunity has arisen.
