Leave for New Mexico in one week to go antelope hunting. Fourth year on this same ranch. Three previous kills, 1st year 315yds with a 25-06, 2nd year 325yds with a 6.5x55AI and last year 360yds with the same 6.5x55AI.
Taking the same 6.5 as a backup but have just finished a new 284 Winchester on a 700 long action. If I can get loads and dope worked out it will be gun of choice this year. Have 140 a max loaded over RL-17, will shoot tomorrow.
