The Ops Core Gunsight Mandible provides additional face protection from blunt trauma and ballistic threats for the Ops Core FAST High Cut Ballistic Helmet. Using a combination of soft armor and rigid support frame technology to provide lower face protection from IED fragments, rough terrain landings (airborne) and debris encountered during off road missions, the Gunsight Mandible is a great accessory for operators with FAST Ballistic High Cut Helmets.
The flexible frame allows a close stock weld and results in minimal interference when sighting shoulder-fired weapons. The hybrid soft armor/rigid support frame is unique in this aspect. Most detachable mandible guards do not allow for good cheek weld and cause issues for the operator when he tries to obtain a sight picture. The Gunsight Mandible folds conveniently to fit in a rucksack or other storage compartment. The front plate is ballistic hard armor. The assembly quickly and easily attaches/detaches from the ARC rails on the Ops Core FAST Ballistic High Cut Helmet. It does not fit other helmets!
