Sidearms & Scatterguns Optic cut G19.5 or get an MR920

I have an unfired glock 19.5 and got a sico threaded barrel for it. I should’ve got an MRO but now im wondering if I should send the slide out to be cut or just sell it and the barrel and get something like a shadow systems MR920? What makes the most sense?

If it were me I'd sell it and get a poly striker pistol from CZ, HK, Beretta, Walther, or Sig. Top it with a Trijicon RMR type 2 or SRO or Aimpoint Acro p2.

What do you want to do? That’s the real question.
Having it cut for the MOS is a fine option.
Shadow systems is a fine option.
Replacing it with a factory glock with MOS is also a fine option.
Also could have the slide you have cut for a specific sight. Options man.
Also do you need a threaded barrel?

Yea they’re all good options, and I’m sure I’d be happy with any of them. I’m leaning toward the shadow systems because it seems like a lot of pistol for the money but I’m curious if others think it’s worth paying for an optic cut or just selling and putting the money toward something that doesn’t need messed with.

I hear you. I prefer factory glocks myself. But that’s for me.
If you like turn key setups with all the mods I would go with shadow systems. They are very nice!

A vp9 tactical OR does check all the boxes. My night stand gun is an HK P30S as well.

Sounds like you'd rather blow money on cool toys. Get the Shadow Systems and look cool on the 'gram.

If I were you though, I'd take the money you're going to lose selling the 19 and the money you're going to spend on a gucci glock; and instead spend it on getting the 19 slide milled for the optic of your choice (as long as it's made by Trijicon) more ammo and maybe a training class or two.

MR920 is much nicer than a g19. By the time you add a nice trigger, optics cut, adapter playes, threaded barrel... the 920 costs less.

Rather than optics mounting systems, dedicated milling by one of the top machine shops, for a specific optic, is the way to go. Choose a shop that's been doing pistol optic milling for years and who has a great reputation- you get what you pay for.

I ended up with the MR920 (War Poet) when I was debating the glock 19 build vs buy route and for a factory ready option I'm a big fan. The looks are pretty sweet but there is a lot of great functionality in it as well. Decent trigger, ergos, multi platform optic cut that is much lower than the MOS and my favorite feature was the backstraps that adjust for actual grip angle rather than just big hand vs little hand. To me they also shoot 'flatter', like 36%... lol no real test but it does feel much better. They feel great in the hand and shoot even better. That's my experience anyway. But as mentioned before if you're already lusting after an option, you're just going to wish you had gotten it earlier.

I don’t do “the gram”, Facebook, twitter, etc…so you won’t find any of my stuff there.

I’m also not interested in toys or what some might perceive as Gucci. If I’m being honest I really don’t care for the looks much with all the busy slide machining but they offer the features I’m after at a good price point.

I didn’t do anything but buy a threaded barrel that was on sale, and they were difficult to come by when i bought it not sure if they still are. I also got the pistol at a good price so the money lost would be minimal, I’m not worried about the few bucks I might lose anyhow. I just like the thought of a pistol that’s great outta the box and I have no desire to mess with.

I’m not a huge fan of the looks, and war poet is pretty stupid to have written on a gun but they seem like a lot of pistol for the money. I’d probably just go for the mr920 as I don’t need the extra serrations and writing. If that’s what you’re into it seems like a solid option tho.

That’s what’s making me look at it. I’m gonna take a look at the VP9 tac as well.
