A buddy just got an mos Glock 10mm. We did some research but a lot of the reviews are from 3 years ago. I know rmr sights are have changed a lot since then. Looks like Trijicon, holosun, aimpoint seem to be the top makers. Anyone have any preferences?

will be used for plinking and carry for bear.

Trijicon fixed the battery contact issues with the Type 2 RMRs. That would be my first choice for a hard use gun.
Holosuns are hyped all over youtube and I guess would be good enough if you were cheap and had suppressor height sights to fall back on.
Aimpoint ACRO (or are you thinking about a Micro on an ATOM set-up?) apparently do not have a very good battery life and would need another adapter plate.

Another vote for the Type 2 RMR

I have one riding on my CZ P-10F Optics Read for USPSA carry optics. The sight has seen just shy of 4700 rounds since January and it's still going strong.

Search youtube and you'll find several videos of people using them in driving rain without issue, and one where someone places a slide with an RMR under a running faucet, fills the sight with water, and can still see a usable dot projected on the lens.

As soon as I can free up the cash I'm buying a Trijicon SRO for carry optics and moving the RMR to my P-10C Optics Ready carry gun.

Is there a mounting solution that will mill the MOS clean out kn a large frame glock?
Ryan-
I'm not sure I follow?

There is a finite amount of material one can mill off of a slide before you interfere with the internals.

Many Glock set ups use different length screws to mount the RMR as the threads can go into internal springs for the Extractor

Same reason why you get to pony up another $80-$200 for suppressor/ silencer/ muffler height Iron Sights.

Since the MOS is junk and you can mill deeper does anyone make anything like the AOS system for small frame glocks that can clean up the MOS cut?

I had to google the product you mentioned....

RMR's are not cheap... but they last... I decided to go with RMR...

I have 2 RMR Slides... one from TSD and the other Brownells...

It's all based upon your cash flow... and a need for different sights
