Rifle Scopes Optics for M1A Scout Squad?

Re: Optics for M1A Scout Squad?

SB 1-8x24 i have a scout going into a McCann industries Carbon Fiber stock when I get home, It will also need an optic. not sure what is going on this one, maybe the SS-1-4 although the SB 1-8x24 would be nice.

Here is a idea for or well maybe 2. 1st Ultimak forward rail with a Aimpoint t1 that way you can co witness with your standard sights.
2nd go with a arms mount and a Aimpoint comp 2 and a quick release that way you could cqb and have long range with open sights. 3rd either a Arms mount our Sadlak mount or any other decent mount and a 1x4 of your flavor or budget. Hope that helps a lil

My scout is in a EBR but I went with the GDI mount and the ELCAN SpecterDR. The BDC is setup for 7.62 NATO and works as it should. Standard 20 inch E types out to 500 pretty easy. Its a bit more than an ACOG but a lot more flexible. 1x with red dot for CQB and throw the lever for 4x for mid range work. Its basically a Aimpoint and ACOG in one, and I did not find a shift in POI between 1x and 4x as some reported.

FX-II 2.5x28mm IER Scout

I have that on my scout rifle, forward mounted. Ridiculously large eye relief, something like 9". Designed for CQB and also lets you reach out a little bit. Nice glass. </div></div>

That is how I set mine up and liked it, but if you're not going to use the forward mount, I think the acog would be great, with a cheek pad.

You mean a couch cushion. ACOGS sit HIGH on M1A's. I think it's funny how with every other rifle it's, "Get the scope as close to the bore as possible.", yet with the M1A it seems to be, "Can the scope be made any higher?".

Take a look at the Leupold MR/T 1.5-5X20.
