Ok, I have a Remington 700 SPS .308 Tactical in my future, so I wanted to get started thinking about my optics choice. I realize that many of you have $1000-$3000 to spend on a snipe rifle, but I am on a budget. I have about a $200 budget on a tactical scope and a $50 budget on rings/bases. The rifle will be used for hunting at 100-200yrds, target practice at up to 500yrds.

Here is what I was thinking so far.

Seems like a simple tactical style mount.

I thought about the 4-16x50 Tactical Mueller, but this one has a 30mm tube and is a bit cheaper.

Seems like a good set of budget tactical rings for my 30mm scope.

Now, if you guys have any other suggestions about the products (maybe a better product, or ways to save some money off what I have) please let me know.

Thanks!

Its a little more but you goin to have a hard time with budget like that. Good luck!

Super Sniper-$250
Base and Rings- EGW $39.99 Burris XTR 30mm rings-$30 to $60

Total- Around $350

I would spend on the better base, like the EGW mentioned above....

I have no experience with the Mueller, however, I do have a Tasco varmint series (2.5-10) with mildot that withstood 100+ rounds on a light 300 Win Mag and now resides on my 22lr... optics are a little dim, but it works well.....
(dim compared to USO,Premier, so take it with a grain of salt..)

I like the Bushnell Elite 3200 10x40 in that price range, when you try to get too many features in a scope in the $200 price range, quality often drops with added features.

I have had good luck with the Warne tactical bases and rings, they are built well for the $$
