Optimal Center of Mass?

So I got a T3x CTR recently and it weighed about 10 lbs with the scope on, but it was very front heavy in my opinion. I filled the stock with about 6 lbs of lead and now my gun weighs about 16 lbs. The center of mass went from about 7.5 inches from the trigger to about 4 inches from the trigger. It is easier to handle offhand now, but would a more forward center of gravity work better for supported positions? For instance, such as off a bipod?

Using heavier stocks has been a pretty popular way to balance out AR’s for a while.
With my 18” KAC LPR, and a suppressor, and Atlas bi-pod, the front is very heavy. Using a MagPul PRS stock has really balanced out the gun. The added weight has really been awesome on the light recoiling 5.56.

So, the answer is: it’s not uncommon at all.

Basically at the barrel nut.

It’s really steady on the bipod or barricade.
