Re: Ordered a GAP 10 today.
I was lucky enough to grab one of the first 3 made at SHOT in January. I only have about 40 rounds through it.....just enough to zero, box test, and check suppressor function/shift. After the bore sight shot and adjustment, rounds 2,3,4 went into easily 1/2". I didnt really shoot many groups because I had a small scope tracking problem to sort out that day. (NF F1 took a very hard fall onto the windage turret and had some trouble tracking)
The gun looks and feels great. Mine is 18" with a surefire break. For me it is a great length/weight/balance rifle. The ambi bolt release if a nice standard touch. The receiver fit is tight. The finish is as you would expect. I love the handguard. It is thin and light, and the lack of rail just forward of the barrel nut means you can mount a scope lower. It allowed me to mount the NF F1 in 1" rings for a very low height over bore for an AR. Recoil impulse is mild, and suppressed is just silly. Despite being DI, there was zero gas in the face shooting suppressed.
The only thing I am changing is the trigger. There is nothing wrong with the POF it came with, but I prefer a 2 stage. So I have a Geissele on the way.
It was the right rifle at the right time for me. They just happened to have a couple at SHOT, and I had some money burning a hole in my wallet. I had been looking for a semi, but hadnt decided on one yet. I loved the look and feel....and the availability. Of course it is from GAP, so it will shoot.
I dont take many pics of my stuff just for the sake of it, but since I have one of the only ones out there and people are so eager, I suppose I should pimp George's product a little bit. I will try and get some taken in the next day or so and will post a few.
