Ordered my first precision bolt action rifle and scope rig

Two gent's I know that are way into precision shooting.

From the above, I found out that G.A. Precision is 20 minutes from where I live. I made an appointment, walked in and Dustin Lassiter immediately gave me a tour of the shop and vault.

I ordered a GAP Thunder Ranch rifle and NightForce NXS Compact 2.5-10 x 42 scope.

Estimated wait time is 6 months. Much less than the Shiloh Sharps I ordered in 1996 and received 5 years later in 2001.

The last scope I bought was a Tasco 4 x 32 in 1976. Obviously going to be a learning curve with the NightForce, but I'm looking forward to it.

Great choice; however, after you shoot it, it is just a matter of time before it starts to multiple and drains your bank account.

Congratulations on your purchase. I also went with GA Precision for my first custom rifle purchase. It will likely be my last. Why buy anything else?

Do you have access to a shooting range over 500 yards? That rifle should make anything closer boringly easy. Very nice rifle.

Ugh my dad has a sharps in 405 and I got to say I can shoot a 45-70 with 400gr bullets, and the gun weighs 5-6lbs and it doesn't bother me, but that thing weighs ~15lbs and with 250gr bullets it kicks like a mule! That metal buttplate sure bruises the shoulder, always regret shooting it. My dad offers me to shoot it every time he brings it, I always shoot it idk why.
