Just moved to Beaverton from the coast for a job.
Had some good spots out there for 1000-1200 yards but I'm having trouble even finding 100 yds outside the expensive ranges.
Have nowhere to take out my precision rifles.
Anybody willing to share a secret spot or go out shooting?
Badly need a spot to shoot long range up here, going into withdrawal.

Tri-county gun club has a 600 yard line, and you can shoot matches there without being a member. IIRC, they have a precision rifle league there. The membership list at tri-county has a long waiting list. Douglas Ridge rifle club out near estacada has a 1000 yard range, and you can shoot matches there without being a member too. I don't know what their membership list is like.

Tri County gun club also has a practical rifle program. If you want precision rifle, there is a northwest precision league that has a Facebook page. There are monthly PRS matches on the first Saturday of each month at Upper Nisqsually Sportsman's club, and they use both a 550 and a 600 yard for matches. If you need more information feel free to pm or email me...I'm up near tacoma now, but used to shoot quite a bit at try-county in Sherwood, OR. There are a few really good guys who run Tri-county's precision rifle stuff, and I'm sure if you contact them they will help you out.

If you really need to get out soon, I am a member at Upper Nisqually, and you would be welcome to be my guest to bang steel on the 550 yard range any time they don't have a match going on. But it would be a bit of a drive for you. it takes me about an hour to get there.

Pm inbound sir. Thank you!

Come shoot UNSC, it's not that bad a drive from Portland. I'm there most every month for the match. Search for UNSC Practical Rifle Match on Facebook.

Other thing I'd say is to change your perspective on what "local" is for a match. We've got a ton options within driving distance from PDX that can be done as either a day-trip or by coming out the night before and camping then driving home after the match. Pretty much everything is in WA state, but it's worth the effort.
