Oregon Sniper challenge

Re: Oregon Sniper challenge

Looking forward to seeing all you guys and having some fun on the firing line. I was just adding up the prize table last night and with the "goodie bags" included we are at $55,202.00. This is a new record for the Oregon Sniper Challenge and Cold Bore Competitions. My sponsors are the best in the world and their generosity absolutely amazes me. Without the sponsors there would be no OSC/CBC. Thanks guys. See you all on the 22nd. Steve.

Re: Oregon Sniper challenge

My bet is Heidi Smith embarrasses a good number of you .

She is deadly accurate and supposed to be shooting this.

I'm not taking that bet Frank. I know she can shoot with the best of them and she told me the other day that she has been practicing a lot for this event. Hope everyone else brings their "A" Games because I know that she will.

I'd be concerned if I wasn't completely devoid of any shred of shame

You will do fine as long as you remember "there are no good ideas the night before a match!".

Now me? I am more than likely to screw the pooch on something. I am contemplating leaving the AR10 at home so I don't get the stupid notion to use it as a primary rifle.

Most likely the 243, but the 260 will likely be in the truck just in case I get a wild hair that day.

Re: Oregon Sniper challenge

Plan to be there, shooting a .308, and try not to embarass myself too much. Been sicker than a dog the last month, hack/cough/fever/dizzy spells. Going to the clinic today, all that I have left is the cough and dizziness. Total practice time = Zero.
I just hope not to embarass myself too much, maybe give jasonk a run for 49th place.

Re: Oregon Sniper challenge

^^^^^^ ...and if I shoot like crap, he doesn't know me.

Edit: I'm at the clinic, and apparently I've had pneumonia for about three weeks but was too stupid or bullheaded to think I was really 'sick'. Waiting for Xray results and prescriptions.

Re: Oregon Sniper challenge

I have the Honor of being a RSO at this challenge. I attended last years challenge and it was a blast. There is going to be some outstanding events this year.

Starting Monday May,17th 2010, and every day after that until the challenge. Everyone needs to talk to the rain gods and tell them to stay the hell away and don't come back until after Sunday! LMAO

Good Luck to Everyone!!!

Re: Oregon Sniper challenge

Just checked the weather forecast. 30% chance of rain on Sat. 60% on Sunday. Looks like the rain gear is coming out.

I'm used to it living in Oregon but wouldn't mind a little sunshine.

I was there. My buddy Kevin and I left Vancouver at 3am to shoot the match. Was actually a fun little match. I had a couple mental errors that cost me places though. Still haven't seen a score sheet.

Re: Oregon Sniper challenge

Oh, and I'm shooting the Sniper Challenge too. I'm excited, can't wait. Fortunatly for me its only about 40 minutes from home so no travel. If any of you hide members need anything that I may be able to provide cause I live close say the word and I'll see what I can do. I have a couch if anyone really needs it.

Hell yea!

Bring on the rain. I hate being wet and cold, but shooting in it usually gives me a bit of an advantage. I also love how it dicks up weapon systems that were not well thought out. Got to love it when guns are going down from popped primers and stuck cases.

I just wanted to re-quote that to make sure Scottmilk9 saw it!!

Good luck guys, sounds like it'll be a helluva match!

Re: Oregon Sniper challenge

You guys are killing me! I will be helping on a bear hunt over there close to you guys. I wish I was better with my time and mouth. I may have been getting banned too! Good luck to all. If we get his bear down early and we are not too beat up we may stop in to see the action.(if that is permitted)

Re: Oregon Sniper challenge

I spent a few days in Madras shooting a few weeks ago and it was supposed to be a rainy weekend so I bought nice rain gear for it. Low and behold we stayed dry, cold, but dry so I need to break out the rain gear. I say bring on the crap weather, give us locals that bit of an edge. I know I need all the help I can get.

Hehehehe, true. I wear a waterproof carhartt everywhere unless its sunny out.

Re: Oregon Sniper challenge

LOL my google foo is not as good as you Yoda!! I got between 300-600.

Re: Oregon Sniper challenge

That's the altitude of the street address for the range, and the terrain around it looks pretty flat. But a 300 foot difference one way or the other is not going to make for a difference in shot elevation which either of us could hold.
