Parker hale M82, 1200tx, C3 identification

Several years ago I purchased a Parker hale 7.62 bolt action custom rifle unbelievably accurate! Needing a some clarity here from more experienced persons than myself. I'm ex British forces rifleman and we'll experienced with the SLR L1A1. I now live in Australia I picked up the
PH 7.62 to keep my eye in!
Things I know,
My Parker hale has a internal MAG with floor plate, Mauser bolt action, full ball on bolt withTriple safety lugs. After market 27 inch heavy barrel, and custom furniture. Only stamp/marking is BNP Birmingham Nitro Proof.
S - 07144 serial number.
OK so what is it?
PH 1200, TX, M82, C3 in 7.62Cal
Purchased from a deceased estate.
Any assistance greatly appreciated cheers guys!

I would say more than likely a 1200 that was rebarrelled to what you have. The barrel profile doesn't look like either a 1200, TX, M82 and the C3 is a copy of the M82.

As to what proofs would be on the rifle if it was military, I do not know. But, as you are probably aware, the BNP proof would be on all rifles made (or sold?) in GB.

But yeah, I love the rifle!

You have a Parker Hale 1200 commercial receiver and bolt that's been custom barreled in 308 win. The "BNP" proof is a Brit commercial proof. Is the trigger guard aluminum alloy or steel? Is been restocked in custom thumbhole stock. greet to hear it shoots well!

This rifle, the floor plate is steel the trigger guard is alloy.
Im lead to believe that all 1200s have alloy floor plate and trigger guard.
Appreciate your input.

I would say more than likely a 1200 that was rebarrelled to what you have. The barrel profile doesn't look like either a 1200, TX, M82 and the C3 is a copy of the M82.

I'm hoping to turn this rifle back to original if possible.

You could convert this to a C3 clone. You would need a correct profiled barrel, stock, scope bases, PH RALS.4 rings, ZF69 Scope.

I meant to say that the other day. None of the above mentioned rifles had "issued" thumbhole stocks. While nice, and good for accuracy, they aren't authentic. Maybe later 1200's but no military rifle had them.

You might be able to reprofile the barrel to C3. What the barrel diameter at the receiver? At the muzzle?

The floor plate is steel whilst the trigger guard is alloy.

I hate to say it, but my old Parker Hales all had steel bottom metal. So, I can’t respond to the aluminum bottom metal.

C3 was all steel bottom metal. If aluminum it's a 1200 or 1200TX triggerguard. Numrich sold correct bottom metal for a while - don't know if still available. It's identical in appearance except for the material type. The receiver and bolt are correct except the rear scope base holes and the serial number. Good for a clone.

Can you tell us the barrel dimensions I was asking about.

OK thanks, trigger ass and floor plate is steel only alloy is trigger guard. It's a mystery... Lol

All the TX1200's I've seen have had steel floor plates. Some of the 1200 Safari's had alloy plates. Finding a TX1200 stock could be hard and most would have no inletting for a magazine as the latter produced ones were single shot with the magazine hole in the receiver filled with fibreglass. If you converted to an M85 they had McMillan stocks and used M14 magazines and can be correct with ZF69 & 84, S&B, and Pecar scopes so some flexibility. The M82 first used Parker Hale commercial tip off steel rings (RALS4) and steel bases (except for NZ, Australian and C3 military versions that had a bridge mount) but you can still pick up NOS alloy bases and rings sometimes (rarely) on eBay and other sites. So in all is a project overtaken in years of collecting the correct parts IMHO.
