Everybody loves new rifle stories so I figured I'd share one. Patriot Valley Arms has been around here for a long time, but they just started offering this Modus rifle from the factory. The Modus is a precision built light hunting rifle, there are ultralight options as well for an added cost. I used the rifle this year for hunting season with great results. Mine is a 6.5PRC but it is available in other calibers as well. If your curious, you can read more about the rifle in the link below:

That DBM looks like it is the Hawkins Hunter.

For me, Hawkins own specific Hunter Mags fit in there a tad easier than an Accurate or MDT SA magnum round magazine (300 wsm/6.5 prc)

BUT, normal AI mags for .473 bolt face rounds have a little rattle in the Hawkins Hunter for me. The magpul poly AI works a tad better… the Hunter mags are the quietest and fit nearly flush, almost like a BDL

I also saved a decent amt of weight swapping from a rail and Seekins rings to the Hawkins direct mount UL rings too.
Nice to shed any weight during long miles of mtn hunts!!

It is, I was surprised how tight the mags fit into it. Both the Accurate and Amend2 mags fit very tight. Turns out I preferred it, because there is ZERO rattle, and they are retained stiff enough that I have zero concerns of accidently dropping mags.
