I am disappointed to find this thread now and I wish I’d done some searching on Pete’s name here on the hide. I recall him and i2 Tech being a go-to for folks in the industry years ago when I first started reading here on the hide. Searching up i2 Technologies recently here on the hide turned up a bunch of old content but nothing at all recent or negative.
TL/DR: I’m into Pete for $2500 as a deposit for a -24LR. It was paid 27Oct20 via wire transfer between banks. Delivery was supposed to be 30 days. At 40 days I connected a buddy to Pete that needed a set of MOD-3s built and Pete just happened to have a housing on the shelf. At 60 days he supposedly contracted corona. At 90 days he turned into the executor of a will for a dead cousin. At 100 days he went radio totally fucking silent. I’m now at 180 days, mad at the situation and beyond fucking pissed that I might’ve also cost a friend a chunk of change as well.
I am disappointed to see folks here asking for patience and covering for the dude when he seems to have a pattern of actions over the last two years that indicate he deserves neither. It’s also surprising to see folks talking at length about his supposed health issues and still be unwilling to just say what it is.
Does anyone here have a currently ongoing legal action or investigation into this person and his business dealings?
End TL/DR.

I’ve been in contact with Pete off and on over the last 5 years. He built the BNVDs that I currently run and I’d been thinking of having them upgraded to white phos tubes. In October I contacted Pete to find out if he had anything for sale in the way of clip-ons. I’d been looking at the many PVS-27s coming up on the market and missed a few deals on -24LRs during the early corona-related gear purges and was really getting the itch for a clip-on as I was wanting to get deeper into the rifle game. After talking for several hours over a couple of days Pete offered to build me a PVS-24LR. Pete said that he had a fellow with a -24LR that got left on when the sun came up and was in need of a new tube. After talking back and forth for a day about needs, parameters and budget Pete told me he had acquired the housing and asked me to pay him for the tube as a deposit and pay the rest upon complete of the unit to which I agreed. At no time during any of this did he mention the fact that he was sick or apparently unable to fulfill work that he was taking on. Completion time for the order was supposed to be approximately 30days but it was understood that might not be possible due to the ‘rona and messed up supply chains. Payment of the deposit for a tube was done by wire transfer to his account with Bank of America on 27Oct.
Leading up to this time and afterwards we would be texting every 2-3 days and talking for an hour or two every couple of weeks about guns, NV tech/history and history in general. After about 45 days I started enquirinf about the status of my project. I was told that tubes were not being delivered and dates were being pushed back because of the ‘rona. Around this time I put a friend into contact with Pete who was interested in getting a set of MOD-3s built. Being aviation dudes they both hit it off and talked for about a week before my friend commissioned him to build a set of MOD-3s. This was just prior to Christmas.
After finally getting ahold of him again on 16Jan Pete claimed to be laid out with the corona virus. He said his distributor was supposed to have his latest batch of tubes in and they would be shipping to him soon for his current projects. On 3Feb he responded to me that his distributor had tubes and they were both going through them to sort/grade for the ones that he needed for my clip-on, my buddy’s goggles and his other projects.
On 24Feb I again got a response from Pete. He said that he was currently dealing with the death of his cousin and had agreed to be the executor of her estate. When we talked on the phone that day he was heading to Portland, OR to track down the shithead son of his cousin to deliver the news and to following through with executing the will. This was my last contact with Pete. Numerous messages and a dozen phone calls since 2March have all gone unanswered. Pete apparently talked on the phone with my buddy in mid March to assure him that the tubes for his goggles were in hand and mentioned that there were no tubes suitable for doing a clip-on like I was needing. At this point he has gone totally radio-silent.
Since I ordered my clip-on I’ve worked in five different states doing construction and been working insane schedules during the week. I was treating this asshole like some primadonna 1911 smith and trying to just be patient. It appears that was a mistake.
