Rare PGM Hecate II .50 BMG Sniper Weapon system. Weapon is a SUB MOA performance weapon to distance. Designated as the FR 12.7 Sniper Rifle by the French Military and weapon additional serves with premier NATO Special Operations teams.
One of the most notable applications of this weapon was in 1994 during the Air France Flight 8969 Hijacking when this weapon system was used by the Fr. GIGN to neutralize the terrorists that were contained in the cockpit of the Airbus Aircraft. The GIGN accomplished this by firing through the armored cockpit glass
Other deployments of this weapon include to conflicts in Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Weapon was additionally evaluated in the late 90's during the US Army .50 BMG trials before this program was developed into a semi-automatic weapon requirement. Further testing of weapon system revealed a SUB MOA 14" group at 1700m using Anthena AP2 armor piercing match grade ammunition.
