Just finished mounting and boresighting my PST. I used a Leupold Zero Point and it has dead nuts on each of the 3 times I've used it.

I measured the center of the tube to the center of the bore and got 2.5". Mounted the Zero Point accordingly and it was very close out of the box. Just a few clicks in either direction. After I finished I looked at my elevation turret and noticed that I had gone DOWN .9 mils. Windage was about 1.4.

I've never had a scope that didn't burn up a couple Minutes from boresighting. I just figured that came with the territory.

Once it gets a little darker I'm gonna put a laser in it and see what happens.

Did I miss something or is it common to pick up a few clicks after boresighting versus losing it?

Yes sometimes you win some sometimes you loose. But it is common I have had them go either way. I mount all my scopes with a cant to the front. Usually only shim 15 to 20 thousandths. Well last time I added a 20 MOA base and my 20 thou. shims if I figured it right I picked up 35 MOA's total as I can dial it into 1750 yds. and still have 2 or 3 MOA's left on the turrets.

Yeah I kinda wish I went with a canted base but it went on an AR10 so I used a 1 piece mount and as far as I know ADM (or any other manufacturer for that matter) don't incorporate cant into their mounts. Never needed to as they historically have been used for low power CQB scopes or midrange scoped shooting.

Maybe with the AR platform gaining so much popularity in LR shooting, manufacturers will start rolling some out.

Bahhhh do I feel stupid now. I'll have to send mine back then. The Aadland looks good. Looks much beefier than the NF.

EDIT: Yes. Definitely going to need it. If my math is right I have 9.7 mils left and I need 12.3 to get to 1,000 yards (having my first go at it this weekend, hopefully) which means I'll almost max out the holdover on the reticle, too. .7 mils left, to be exact. Talk about cutting it close!
