I got a Savage mkII fv the past week. I thought it was time to get a new rifle.

I put a Bushnell 10x Mil/Mil on it, in a cheap pair of rings. So far, it shoots great, I've made hits out to 250 with it, and has been shooting tight groups out to 150, which is the max distance I've shot groups so far.

I doesnt like the Federal HV/Hollow Point ammo though, it will hit anywhere from a mil high to a mil low at 200 yards, which is terrible. I'll try some wold match and some standard velocity ammo.

One thing I did notice is my windage is cranked all the way to one side and is very limiting on my elevation. I have the standard bases on there, but it will be replaced with a 20moa base in the future.

SO far, I love this little gun. Much cheaper than putting a couple hundred rounds down range with a 308.

Pics will be up as soon as I can locate a camera that works.

haha I was shooting my little .22 today as well. I was shooting 2-3" groups at 100 with it. Is yours the one in the Tupperware stock or the mcmillan looking stock?

Interesting that you are having this issue too. My buddy recently purchased the same rifle and scope combo and had the same results. We took the scope off and tried it on several different rifles, and determined that it must have been the MkII. He called Savage and they promptly sent him a shipping label to return it to them.

I'm interested to see how things work out with your rifle and I will keep you updated on the results with my buddie's.

Well, that is unfortunate... I don't really want to have to sent this back. I may just put a 20moa base on it and get some Burris Zee rings to counteract the misalignment with...
