I bought a Timney trigger w/o safety from Brownells and then bought the New Ultra Light Arms 3-function safety (Brownells part number 916-100-203)I've followed the directions as best I can and seem to have everything assembled correctly but I don't see how the "detent spring" stays in place.

Can someone help me out?

Re: Timney trigger safety install?

onemoretime,

I have not installed one of these, but my gunsmith did. He told me a detent or notch had to be drilled into the M700 bolt, for the detent to fit into. That's because the NULA trigger locks the bolt. Newer Rem 700 lacks the bolt locking notch, that older rem 700 had.

That was 5 or 6 years ago and I no long have that rifle. But I would suggest you call Timney and NULA and ask.

Sorry I could not be of more help.
