Okay, I know most would probably not spend their money on this but I am a horror movie junkie and can really enjoy what many would consider crap. Obviously 3D was thrown into this to make it more appealing and it definitely made it fun to watch.

This is a sequel/remake to some earlier Piranha films, probably more remake than sequel but it is the "third" one so the 3D was fitting. Not like you need much knowledge to figure out what it's about but I will comment on what was there. First off, it is a "Spring Break" setting so there is an abundance of nude & bikini clad babes and nothing says hello like a giant screen filled with hot chicks in 3D, and NAKED! Blood and gore was aplenty and also in 3D. The cast had some decent actors: Ving Rhames, Elizabeth Shue, Jerry O'Connell, Christopher Lloyd and the British bombshell Kelly Brook. BTW, Kelly Brook in 3D naked is a treat.

All in all it was fun as long as you're not looking for an Emmy Award winner. Gore, blood, probably 100+ deaths, hot chicks, nudity and some good cheap scares and thrills. Worth my $14.

Re: Piranha 3D

My friend that went with me said about a third of the way through, "Josh, we've been friends for what, eight years now? And this is by far the best movie we've gone to see." I wouldn't go that far but the acting was better than I expected and if you go into it without expecting a whole lot then I think you will like it. What I mean by "without expecting a whole lot" is simply to not overanalyze it. A firnd of mine has to run his chops during every movie with stuff like, "yeah right, that wouldn't happen," etc. I go because this stuff doesn't happen in real life. If Kelly Brook was naked on a bought with some schlub like me I wouldn't have time to post here, LOL.

Saw this last night with my wife and some friends. Lots of T&A and violence. Reportedly set a record for most fake blood used in a movie, and I believe it. Certainly campy, but worth the price of admission.
