Today was the second match of the season (4th Saturday of each month) of the Plantation matches run by Gary Rasmussen in Bellingham, WA. It was a Fullbore registered match.
3 strings of 15 shots each shot at 300 yards, prone with two convertible sighters. The weather called for 14 to 18 mph winds, with gusts up to 30+ mph. However, when we got to the range, it was snowing mixed with rain and the wind did not look like more than 4 to 5 mph at the range. Cold as heck, again. The range is sheltered with trees lining up both sides, so when the wind does get in there, causes nasty surprises and plays havoc sometimes. Today, there were relays where the wet flags were straight down, but guys were getting blown off to the right. Of course, no mirage to look at and sometimes the cold rain would not show the correct angles. A cold day in the pits with the pasters not sticking at times and fingers getting numb - a good day of shooting!
The weatherman scared many shooters away, but we still had 15 shooters of which seven were F-Class. Five F-T/R and two F-Open. The scores:
