I have a new .308 and have been shooting the only ammo that I can find locally which is PMC 150 grain. I have been happy with the ammo and it is very accurate even out to 800 yds.
My buddy has a reloader so I have been saving all of the brass. Does anyone have an experience as to how this brass performs reloaded? It is worth my time to use it? Thanks for the info.

Re: PMC Brass

its OK to me.I was able to make a trade one time for some 223 PMC brass.when I got the chance to load it I found that the primer pockets ( most of them ) were off center.so I just choose to reload the ones that looked centered.so fare the brass is holding up to my load for that one rifel.

so its your call to weather you load for it or not.you said it shoot great out to 800 so it might just be worht a try.who knows till ya try.

Re: PMC Brass

I've reloaded a lot of it in 556 and it's find. can't see a reason why the 308 would be different but maybe someone else knows for sure. it's just your basic brass cases. not Lapua, but should be fine for reloading..

Re: PMC Brass

I used to be able to buy PMC cases in boxes of 200. I heard that they don't sell components anymore, but don't know? The quality was excellent, I am still using them for two rifles. I think it's made in S. Korea? BB

Re: PMC Brass

I like PMC brass. Not bad at all, I am always on the lookout for this brass to reload for my AR. I have some that are over 10 firings for my AR and still shoots accurately. I anneal after 4 firings and have trimmed twice already so I think 1 or 2 more and this brass is done. Not bad for free brass.

Re: PMC Brass

I'm on my 3rd reloading on some PMC 308 brass and it's performed fine. It's a little heavier than LC at 181 grains per empty case vs 178 for LC and Fed, but it's been very consistent. Rock on with it.

I got the brass from the 150 grain factory loads.

Re: PMC Brass

It works fine. Forget that some of the primer holes are off-center, mostly won't see any evidence of this unless you are shooting very small bug-holes off of a bench.

Re: PMC Brass

I found the flash holes on a bunch of PMC .223 brass were off center as well. I noticed this after I loaded a bunch of them with 77gr SMKs, and they shot like shit. Also, I busted a decap pin on the off center holes. Wasted a bunch of powder and expensive bullets. Still not sure how 77s will shoot in my gun. I did learn to pay more attention to the flash holes in the future. It never even occurred to me that brass would be made with that level of imprecision. Obviously, all my PMC cases went straight in the shitcan. Won't use them again.

Re: PMC Brass

I've seen the off center flash holes as well but it's never been a problem. No problem depriming them either, good brass I think.

Re: PMC Brass

I bought a case of PMC .223 ammo back in the early 80's. Yeah, I broke a few decapping pins because of off-center flash holes and those cases got tossed. The rest of it is still going strong after 10+ firings. It reminds me a lot of LC - thick and strong.

Re: PMC Brass

Shoots okay for me in an AR, 3/4 inch at 100 yards. I have never bought PMC rifle ammo, just pistol but along the way in picking up brass at the range I've accumulated a good amount of once fired PMC, about 500 cases or so. The pro shop at the range sells it for classes and most of the m don't pick it up when they are done or leave it in piles along the line.

I haven't shot this load past 100 but have been tempted to try it at 200 for off hand and sitting to see how it does.

Re: PMC Brass

I tested factory 55 gr 223 ammo 10 years ago and found PMC [not pmp] target .223 to be more concentric and more accurate and cheaper than Federal Gold Match.

Since then it has become almost unobtainable, and now replaced with x-tac, precision, and bronze lines of rifle ammo.

That test was an eye opener.
PMC can make better ammo than I can handload.

Re: PMC Brass

I don't know, but I have people that find out I run PMC brass in a couple hot performers and have had several inquiries wanting to buy some of it off me. I ain't selling. BB

I surprisingly found the same... Their 52smk match load shot absolutely fantastic in my factory rem 700. I could never come close to it until I did the ladder test when I was able to match it.

Re: PMC Brass

I shoot some PMC 308 brass in my Ishapore Enfield....shoots fine and I have about 8 reloads on some of it. I don't however load it in my Rem 700. I'll load Lake City for some but mostly Lapua brass for precision. The old Enfield is a pretty sloppy chambering and I only neck size the brass for it...the PMC has held up well and doesn't need trimming after the first firing so far.
