POF 308 SPR

Are the POF rifles worth what they cost.

What i'm looking for is a consistaint shooter out to about 600 yards I'm looking at the 20inch version, I would like something I dont have to tinker with to much other than load development, something thats dependeble or should I just have one bult by GA or others?

What could I expect out of a POF far as accuracy?

I have also looked at the Smith enterprises Crazy horse rifles but they seem hard to get. Thanks for any help.

Re: POF 308 SPR

I have been getting 3/4 MOA at 100 yards with factory ammo. This is with a 20 inch upper.

I think for the price their product cannot be beat. You would need to fork over another $1k to get a LWRC repr which is similar in design and function.

They seem like a smaller company so if you need service be patient.

Re: POF 308 SPR

I have a P-308 SPR with the 20" 5R barrel and it is MOST CERTAINLY worth the money. It is by far the most accurate semi-auto 308 I have ever laid my hands on. With factory match ammo and my handloads, it is near 1/2 MOA capable and it will maintain that accuracy out to 600yds which is as far as I have stretched mine out so far. I am certain that with some additional load development, I could wring a little more accuracy out of this rifle.

As for reliability/no "tinkering"...mine has been good since day one with the exception of some failures that were 100% mag-related. The only "upgrades" I have done to my rifle are optics/Larue mount, an Atlas Bipod, and a swap of the VLTOR E-MOD collapsible stock to a Magpul Gen II PRS.
