POF rifle build question

New to building AR's, just purchased a POF upper, lower, and hand guard. I have a question and can not seem to find an answer to. To build it into a gas piston operated gun I will have to run a POF BCG and buy the barrel and piston kit from POF also correct? I have seen DI builds using other barrels and components, but I want a gas piston gun as I will be running it suppressed often.

Is the upper gas piston or DI? You did not specify.

It's a stripped upper, sorry that wasn't clear. There isn't a difference between a stripped gas piston upper and DI is there?

Since you purchased the handguard already you need to make sure it will work with a piston due to the height reasons. All you should need is the BCG, Barrel, Piston Kit and much money to purchase all this

HA HA! Very well stated. I was thinking 'man, you would've been much better off to just buy a piston rifle outright.'

Its a stripped POF upper, stripped POF lower, and POF hanguard/rail like I stated in OP. Guess I should of put POF in front of each part to be clear. Im sure the rail will work since it is the same one they use on their piston guns. The money is not an issue, for what I paid for the upper, lower, and rail I know it will come out cheaper than just buying a complete rifle.

I just wanted to confirm that I needed a barrel, BCG, and piston kit directly from POF to make this a gas piston gun. I can't seem to find these parts anywhere besides POF. Guess they don't sell them to dealers and they are proprietary parts.

Try giving Felix at AVguns.com a call he might be able to get the parts for you. If not then I guess you just have to get them direct from POF.

POF will sell them to you direct at a great price, I asked when my upper lower and rail combo came in, but i am going with a DI setup.

According to him/Felix, POF has never and will never sell just a barrel. He said he couldn't help me, guess I'll try POF and see what they say.
