I normally don't complain, but I recently purchased a POF .308 rifle and had an issue with the trigger. The trigger pull was around 8 lbs. with creep and wasn't resetting everytime. The trigger is one of their new POF drop in triggers.
You can always get a bad part no matter what product you buy, but the customer service stinks. I talked to a guy named Chris who was a total jerk. He told me to send the trigger in and when he got it he would replace it and send a new one out. I asked him if I could give him my credit card number so he could go ahead and send a trigger out while waiting for the old one to get there. He told me they didn't have any triggers to send, but he expected them to be in by friday or latest monday. This doesn't make sense because the first guy I spoke with said they had quality control issue with the triggers and the wrong spring was put into some of the triggers. When I told Chris what I was told, he wanted to know who told me that. He didn't know about anything I was told. We later agreed on me sending the trigger in and he said he would send one out as soon as he got the old one in. I asked him, I thought you didn't have any triggers in and he got very short and rude.
I'm not so much upset about the part as I am about the way I was talked to and treated. The guy seemed to think I wanted something for free. Anyone that has ever dealt with me knows if you can't get along with me than you can't get along with anyone. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the poor customer service or at least Chris's poor customer service at POF.

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

I don't have a POF but I know what it feels to pay big money for a rifle only to have an issue and get crappy service. I think I would call back and talk to a higher level guy to let them know what has happened. I know a guy can have a bad day but you have to know that when you give bad customer service on a recurrent basis it doesn't take long for your business to start to drop. In the AR world there is heavy competition so you want to ensure you can keep you customers happy.

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

I asked to talk to the Boss and he said he was it LOL.I said are you the owner and he said (I DIDNT SAY THAT) so I guess he is in charge just not the owner.

I just sent the trigger off so I will hope for the Best.If anyone wants a new POF rifle it will be for sale as soon as I get the trigger back.

All I can say is Please Hurry LARUE

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

I have to say I had the opposite experience with POF. I have an older P-415 and was inquiring about buying a replacement piston parts kit for it. They have apparently changed some things about the internal parts. They told me to send in my upper and they would retro-fit it with the newer parts for free. Well... Not only did they replace my older parts but they also sent me a new set of replacement parts too... FREE!!! I initially thought they had sent my upper back to me with the old parts and just sent new parts with it until I took my rifle apart and realized the parts in it were the new ones too. IIRC the new piston is shorter and the rod is longer or something like that.
Anyway, I didn't speak to Chris (I think I spoke to a Scott IIRC) but I've heard he can be a little "short" and doesn't interact well with some people. I take that kind of stuff with a grain of salt but the "company's" customer service was outstanding in my estimation.

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

Don't let the bad experience sour you on the POF. They are great rifles. Shoot it when you get the trigger fixed and I bet you will want to keep it.

Call and talk with Scott.

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

Chris can be a little abbrasive at times, but don't let that take anything away from POF. I have had excellent customer service with them and they have always been quick to resolve any issues. I got a defective roller cam pin around the first of the year for my P-308. I called and spoke with Doug and Chris and they determined what the problem was and I had a replacement pin in my hands in less than a week. While it wasn't overnight...it is hard to complain this day and age with a turn-around time of less than a week from 2/3 the way across the country.

Get the trigger replacement, install it in your rifle and test it out. I am sure that you'll be pleased with the performance of the rifle. If you don't like the replacement, ditch it and get a Timney AR-10 trigger or a Gieselle (mine came from the factory with the Gieselle before POF started with their own trigger groups and I couldn't be more pleased).

I completly agree here. POF is a top notch company. I can't wait to get a .308 from them. Talk to Scott he will get you squared away.

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

I don't know why they didn't just keep putting giselle triggers in the guns. They are awesome triggers. Only thing I don't like about my 2 POFs are the non-spec rails. My .223 and .308 are both .75" or better and reliable.

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

Thanks for the info guys.Scott was the guy that I first talked too and he was GREAT.He was the one that told me about the trigger problems and said I needed to talk with Chris.Im sure POF is a great company and makes a great product.Thats why I picked the rifle up because of all the great things that I have heard.I looked at two rifles at Cabelas one had a Gieselle and the other a POF trigger. They both were great.I guess I should have checked the rifle they pulled out of the back that I got but I didnt.

I guess its more of a employee problem than a POF problem. But I dont understand why a company would allow someone with a abbrasive personality to be one of the customer service reps.
Im sure he is a great worker and is great for the company but I think they would be better served to let someone else deal with the public.

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

I can't say enough great things about Geissele triggers. I have put two DMR's on my AR's and just got a third that I am installing this week. I am sure the POF's are great as most people say so go out and play with it and give it a good working out and then make a decision. When I got my LWRC I was kind of torqued because it had such a crappy trigger. I almost sold it but once I put the Geissele on it changed my perspective.

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

Hey livetohunt, call me tomorrow at extention 12 at POF, I didn't hear the whole conversation with you and Chris, but I'm not one to apologize for someone else.

The Geiselle trigger in my opinion is the best on the market and i just reordered 150 of those, so if you want I'll swap it out, but they won't be in for about 2 weeks.

I'm about being honest to the customer and we had some spring issues, unfortunately it wasn't caught soon enough. POF will take care of their customers, like I said I didn't hear the conversation you had, but Franks goal is to improve customer relations and I'm here to help.

Give me a shout.

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

Now that's customer service right there, folks!

Hey Scott...tell Frank I said that you deserve a raise (not that it'll do much good coming from me)!!

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

I also got mine with a Geiselle trigger too... non-adjustable right? at least mine is non-adjustable i believe - no screws for adjustment... off-hand, does anyone know what the figures for the lbs pull for that trigger?

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

The Geiselle triggers we put in are the 2 stage ones and they break about 4lbs. They also have the quickest locktime(9 miliseconds i beleive) of any AR trigger, so for all you accuracy freaks, this is the trigger to put in.

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

Trigger came in today from POF.I opened it up expecting it to be a GEISELLE but it is a POF.I called Pof and left a message for Scott on Monday to check to make sure everything was ok but never heard back so I called again today and left another message. The UPS man just dropped the trigger off and I was really excited about getting the rifle up and running. The new trigger works and is much better than the first but its still very inconstant. I thought they were sending a Geiselle per Scott if I wanted to wait for them to come in.I cant lie and say that Im not bumed.

Re: POF Rifle trigger problems

JFC, I was suppose to take care of this, but someone shipped it out when i was out of town I didn't come back to work til today. I'll call you tomorrow and we'll get this taken care of. Geiselle triggers aren't here yet, thats maybe why they shipped that, but no worries, we'll get you a geiselle.
