Howdy Gents!
So yesterday I FINALLY got to take my new .308 savage precision carbine to the range and try it out and hot damn... that thing is way better than I'll ever be. However... Im having a few issues... one of them being the POI shift with my Advanced Armament 762SD N-6. I started dialing my scope in and I got close enough for now... I couldnt control my heart rate for crap and was sitting at 1MOA or so. But the interesting thing came when I mounted my suppressor after 40 rounds since a guy hopped on the lane next to me (too bad he had a 300WM deer rifle).
Once I mounted the suppressor my groups shifted damn near 2 inches down and too the right at 100yards. At first I was worried that the bullet was grazing the edge of the suppressor... that scared the hell out of me, so I popped it off and gave it a look and it was perfectly fine.
Granted, I expected a bit of a shift... but is this whats to be expected??? With a suppressor that expensive, Im pretty surprised. Or is this a sign of a bigger issue? Could I have screwed up the mounting of the AA 51T muzzle brake? granted I mounted this thing on my kitchen counter... but I used the shims provided by AA so I imagined its mounting could be square. Or possible cut of the mounting surface on the barrel isnt square? Also, I was using 175gr SMKs in new Win Brass from Southwest Ammo... if that means anything.
Whats everyones thoughts?
Im gonna try and make it back to the range this week and put some more ammo through it and get some pictures.
