Does anyone have experience with poi shift in subsonic loads in a round that it usually supersonic? I am especially interested in chamberings in (rifles) like 300 Blackout, 300/221, 450 Bushmaster, 45 colt 44 mag and others where the higher muzzle velocity and subsonic velocity are nearer than in a 308 or 30-06. I have loaded WSM's to subsonic and the poi shift at 100 yards was about 14" low. I am trying to find a cartridge that would work both subsonic and supersonic through a suppressor with minimal poi shift, any med to large bore diameter is acceptable. Thanks

Best bet is to run the numbers through Quickload. You should be able to get a crossing point where a heavy slow starts to make up ground on the fast light bullet. Only issue may be stabilizing one better than the other.

That's the nature of subsonic ammo.

If you fire a rifle bullet at a 100yd target (300ft away) and the average speed to the target is 2600fps the time of flight is appx 0.11s

Now you shoot a subsonic bullet where the average speed is 1000fps the time of flight is appx 3x's that number, or 0.33s

The drop will be 9x's greater with a 3x increase on the ToF. No two ways about it.

My solution is this:

Supersonic Dope Card
Subsonic Dope Card, with zero shift at 100yd between the 2 ammo's.

My supersonic 308 load at 2700 and the subsonic 308 load at 1050 fps are 10" apart at a 100 yards so your numbers could be correct. I don't think what you are looking for exists but if you find it please let us know.
