Possible business ventures, need advice!

First off sorry if this isn't the appropriate area but I figured it my topic would be best here...

I've recently been spending a lot of time lately looking into possible ventures to make extra money online or local Craigslist listings.

The two obvious ideas would be to buy used parts/guns/etc and try to resell for a profit, or to purchase wholesale products and resell. This is definitely an option I am and will consider, but with the time investment required to find quality used goods at a good price and the low margins with purchasing wholesale products; I think that it will be hard to show a profit anytime soon.

My preferred option...

Buying wholesale parts to assemble finished products for resale. One example that comes to mind are paintball guns. I've had a few friends and heard of many that built very lucrative business purchasing individual parts and building complete "guns" that could be sold for a decent profit...

My question is can anyone offer advice or guidance pointing me in a direction where I could apply a similar business model within the firearms/archery/outdoor markets?

I like to think I have a very good mind and grasp of knowledge in these areas but there is just so many options to consider I'm having a hard time narrowing in one or two areas to focus my research on!

Would really appreciate any advice you guys can give me.

Thanks again,

John

Re: Possible business ventures, need advice!

Local/County/State Market demographics for YOUR business...are there other entities doing the same exact thing in your area? You WANT this to be ZERO so you have NO competition

Business Plan
Business Mission Statement
Five Year Plan of Action to Support growth
Financial Start Up Capital
Meeting with SCORE Small Business Counselor
Local and County DBA
Local, County, State Business Permits
Federal Tax ID
State Tax ID
Section of home or stand alone property for business
Business support technology or property

The above is just a small list of what must be considered. To properly survive as well as mentor growth, you MUST be able to process credit card transactions or you will go nowhere. Intuit is a great beginner system.
Your first step should be to MAKE AN APPOINTMENT with your local SCORE counselor. After that you might have a clear idea of what really needs to be done in your area to be legal
