Rifle Scopes Possible Premier 3-15x50 Problem, Please help!

Hey guys,

So I purchased a 3-15x50 PRH and it is in a DT format. When I turn the elevation turret "down" you can hear the sound clearly of the "clicks"... when you turn the elevation turret "up" while in the second turn, you can hear the "clicks" very clearly...

BUT when you are in the first turn of the elevation turret going "up" you cannot hear anything (although you can still feel it), or hardly hear it... is nothing like the other two methods of turning.

Is it suppose to be like this?

Koshy,
Call Premier, they have replacement "clicker" for the turrets.
Sounds like the same issue some of the early scopes had. Not a major deal.

I was wondering if that was it... but from what I was told, they checked the scope before they sent it off to me, because I asked them to do so.

Maybe I will pull off the housing and try taking a look for myself...

Weren't the other ones mushy all the way through the turret though? And not just at one specific point? Which in my case is the first turn "up" on the elevation?

Just call them and get them to listen to the lack of the clicks on the phone. You could also try the dealer you bought it from.

How am I doing that? I'm confused....

I just wanna know why the guy keeps bumping his thread with worthless remarks that could be added to his post from above, it isn't like anyone posted after him. Seems to me his is just roving the Hide looking for places to post so he can run up his count so he can sell something.


Now my question is this? Why are you so concerned about dick size? Lacking in some area?

Explain to me how I'm selling a Premier when I'm pissed brand new out of the box and it is mangled? I spent 3k on this scope and the tech support is at shot show for the next week... lol...

To make matters worse, when removing the turret to try and get a peak at the springs to see what they looked like, when putting the turret back on the "clicks" are totally mangled now... heh. And I couldn't even get to look at the springs because the screws were screwed down to tight and I didn't want to strip them...

And to put the final nail in the coffin the dealers tech support is also at shot show...

I know the "leaver" isn't to lose as I cannot lift it with my nail/finger... and I know it isn't on to hard because I only used one thumb to push it down and I can lift it back up via a cartridge or a knife...

So yea, pretty frustrated right now... my NEAR mount is coming in this week and I won't even be able to mount my scope for at least a couple more weeks due to shipping time (if I can even ship it back) and then repair time... and then possibly add in Shot Show time...

Woe is me? Never seem to have much luck when it comes to this kind of stuff

Why didn't you just wait? Or have asked that one of the tech guys (iehter PR or the dealer) to call you from SHOT? If it's that a big deal to you you could have said it was an emergency and wanted someone to call you ASAP. Now you've gone a messed around with the turrets and have done God knows what to it.

Which dealer did you get it from?

All I did was follow the instructions given on checking the spring type found on the shide... I was very careful. And again I say, I didn't end up touching the 3 screws. All I did was remove the leaver, pull off the turret carefully (was quite easy to come off), then look at it... put the turret back on (again quite easy) and then lock down the leaver...

I will admit a couple times I put the leaver down to losely (But really, should that damage it), but I mean come on finding the perfect sweet spot is a pain in the ass with that thing... the manual doesn't suggest how much or how little pressure should be used...

And a couple times it wasn't going down, but I didn't force it... I would just move it back to the up position move it a 1/16th of a turn and then try again until I could get it down with one thumb...

If the turret stops working from simply following the process of "zeroing" I have a much bigger problem...

Turret still works... just doesn't sound the same.

Dealer is a place in Canada.

Taking the turrets off is not "simply following the process of zeroing"....and if you spent $3K on a 3-15 I hope it came with a reach-around.

It does suck, but one of the facts of life is that mid-January is the SHOT black hole as far as availability goes for the dealers/manufacturers etc.

I didn't mean taking the turret off, I meant moving the leaver... my bad on not explaining better =/

Also I'm more jeleous I am not at SHOT SHOW myself right now, then angry I cannot get help

They will be back on the 25th. I mailed mine back to Paul the day they were headding out.

Doubble check that the o-ring isnt dicked up from when you put the knob back on. If it got bound up it could potentialy make the clicks imperceivable, on the second turn its elevated possibly enough to have the tactileness of the clicks.

Worth checking IMO.

have you used the scope to see if it tracks?
I have 2 of them and they work great but admit never say and heard the clicks just as long as the detent is perceivable in my hand. these are great scopes and suggest you dont have it all over the floor when you do get help.
I would mount it and shoot it , see if it tracks correctly there are instructions here at the hide on how to change / inspect the clickers if you like

Yea I used those instructions, but got stuck when it came to the screws, they didn't seem to want to come out, so I didn't risk the chance of stripping them So all I did was put the turret back on...

I will leave it up to team at Premier... they said they would get back to me this morning (live in Canada need to figure out the shipping method)... I trust that they will.

Koshy, the screws are snug tight but easily removed with the "right size " tight fitting screwdriver"
Also as noted by another member earlier be sure you rotate the turret as you reinstall it .
I have foound they have great customer service if thats any help to you most likely just bad timing?

I would agree, anytime I have talked to them they have been very helpful! I am not trying to make them look bad, but yes my timing was horrible ;P Going to mail it in so that they have it for when they get back next week

Sorry if I came across a little coarse guys, I just have been dying to use my new rig fully complete..

You do know he's talking Canadian Dollars.... right? Depending on which Province he's in, when you figure the exchange rate and the tax (higher in Canada) then it's not a surprise.

Canadian dollars are within like $0.03 of American's right now The problem is the taxes... and getting them over the boarder.. that is the killer =/ You lucky guys you!

Well looks like I shouldn't expect my scope back until next week now... since ShotShow has made everyone busy and picked up companies business (not referring to Premier but the Dealer I got it from) it looks like they won't be looking at the scope and changing out the clickers until the end of the week rather then what was originally was stated would be the beginning of the week.

Tiny bit sad about this considering from the day I received my scope it wasn't making audible clicks properly =/ So now even though I have "owned" it for almost a month, I shouldn't be able to use it for that first month haha.

Don't get me wrong I totally get that military orders are more important then me, because those contracts are so large, just thought I would vent a bit to feel a little better...

My streak of bad luck continues! Wish I had just held onto the scope now and saved myself some money and waited for the clickers to come to my house. Live and learn I guess!

Hell I have had such bad luck with this rifle build I have to send my Versa-Pod back as it was shipped to me new and broken as well (Pan + Cant knobs aren't working as intended). This problem is compounded by the fact that I live in Canada -.-

I guess looking on the bright side at least my rifle and scope mounts aren't broken haha...

Thanks for letting me whine and b*tch... I was just looking forward to using my rifle at its final build and see what it is actually capable of (not to mention range report and lots of pictures)... you know there is a problem when a $1600 Savage BAT with cheek piece on the left when I'm right handed shoots better then a $6000 Steyr SSG 08 because I am stuck with a broken bipod and a $85 bushnell 3-9x32 that has 10% inaccuracy....

Paul please don't give them a hard time, I don't want them to get pissed at me for you bugging them and thank you for everything you have done for me. You alone make going with Premier worth while for the customer service you have offered me

SCOPE UPDATE:

Just got a call from the Dealer, all has been fixed, he said I had a valid complaint, and there was a marked, very noticeable difference now. They will be sending it out today! Should have it in about a week... cannot wait to mount it to my NEAR and then my rifle
